In der InDesign-Sprechstunde.de berichtete ein Kollege von massiven Geschwindigkeitsproblemen mit #InDesign 2025. Leider ist er damit nicht alleine. Die aktuelle Version 20.2 weist immer noch eine Reihe von Problemen auf, weswegen ich auf meiner Website InDesign-Status.de auch weiterhin davon abrate, im professionellen Arbeitsumfeld mit der Version zu arbeiten. Bleibt bei 19.5.3, das läuft stabil(er).
Wie ist es bei euch? 2024 oder 2025 im Einsatz?
Das InDesign-Update v20.2 ist nun seit ein paar Wochen ausgespielt, und ich habe mich wieder in diversen Foren umgehört, wie es um die Stabilität bestellt ist: Meine Einschätzung ist etwas positiver als bei der Vorgängerversion, aber grünes Licht gebe ich noch nicht. 1. Send the report via a link, e.g. customer or service provider.
2. The recipient edits the metadata and the alternative texts.
3. Once this is complete, the report is imported back into the InDesign document.
I've been thinking about #Software, specifically #Affinity apps #AffinityPhoto and #AffinityPublisher, and how they differ from #Photoshop and #InDesign most specifically.
The place it's most obvious is the treatment of Layers - Photoshop’s layering is a very direct recreation of the sort of cell stacks anyone who has done traditional animation would understand. Even things like Effects Layers and Masks, they're very of the physical. (1/3)

Well, after three days, I updated to Adobe InDesign 2025 (which didn't fix my freezing on startup problem), deleted all my preferences (which didn't fix it) and finally did a full system shutdown and restart, and THAT, along with probably the preferences, finally has it running again. For now. I make no long term predictions, as I have thought it was fixed before. Maybe I can make my deadline now. Fucking Adobe. #adobe #InDesign #adobeCC
My wife came home from work to complain about her instance of Microsoft 365 that wouldn't work, and I got to tell her about my Adobe InDesign CC, which (as has repeatedly happened) locks up on launch. Have I mentioned that software subscription models just suck ass, and serve nobody but stockholders?

Can someone with Adobe #Indesign help me out?
I've got some old .indd files from college that I want to put on my portfolio website, but I can't convert them to PDF without having InDesign or signing up for the Adobe mafia's Acrobat subscription service.
In all fairness, I don't even know what they look like. I don't remember what the assignment was, or even if these are worth trying to preserve to a portfolio—

I’m going frame, by frame through a #Comics #GraphicNovel I spent the best part of 20 years writing and illustrating, in order to clean up the old #InDesign files, which have to run in a virtualised legacy #macOS install (#SnowLeopard #FTW). While I can see every shortcoming in my art style of decades ago, I still feel a great affection for the characters and story. Within a week, I should have fresh #EPUB updates done, and then maybe a #CBZ version.
