Just built a splash screen for KDE plasma 6 ! Made this animation originally for a game jam, but we never actually added it into the game, just revamped the colours to fit a better palette and bam. So much better :P
made a page for it too https://gobbe.neocities.org/bob .'q
In Kdenlive, "zones" refers to a specific regions of a clip that can be used for editing or rendering.
The beginning of a zone is set by pressing the "I" key (in-point), and the end of a zone is set by pressing the "O" key (out-point).
You can also use the "Monitor → Set Zone In" and "Monitor → Set Zone Out" in the menu options.
"Shift-I" inserts the zone into the project bin.

@ToniBarth #KDE's text editing framework had #TTS support for a long time and it was recently improved to be more accessible via the context menu:

Work on the KDE Plasma desktop sounds like it continues to go very well, with some really important bug fixes arriving to make the experience a lot nicer. My favourite Linux desktop environment and what powers the Desktop Mode on Steam Deck.

I just followed the instructions here and upgraded my Ubuntu 24.04 to use KDE 6.4.
I had do manually fix a few things, but in general it did work.

I would love to see "ephemeral" notifications become a thing, that display a pop-up but don't persist.
Unlike on my phone, I basically never want to "triage" my desktop notifications. When something pops up on my desktop, either I handle it immediately, or I didn't actually want to get it (but manually setting notification rules is annoying).
For example, I would love it if all #KDE Connect notifications disappeared as soon as they timed out. If I need them later, I'll check my phone.
This is a prototype. It's based on my Stormtrooper icon theme, but fitting into Graphite theme on KDE.
Who keeps breaking KCalc and not testing it :/
