An extremely odd-to-me thing:

#macOS Safari has recently started collecting empty windows hidden away from view. Right-clicking on the Dock icon will regularly show three or four “Start Page" entries (my default when opening a new window) that just like… respawn…? or something.

I don't create them, they're not active or in view, but they keep cropping up even after I close each one.

The single biggest quality of life improvement Apple could make would be to unify the authentication/authorization UI in MacOS.

I understand there are different methods in the background, but make the UI the same.

Sometimes I can Touch ID. Sometimes I can tap my watch. Sometimes I have to type my password. Which UI comes up for which use case seems completely random. Even when using browser passwords from the keychain, it is nowhere near consistent.

This is not meant to include first time auth after reboot and/or auth in the terminal, both of which are understandable, and seem like special cases to me. #macOS

macOS Sequoia tip:

- Click on a window's drag area
- Start dragging it
- With your mouse button still held down, press the option key.

An outline of the window will appear, tiled to part of the screen. Let go, and the window will jump to that new, tiled, position.

- Click the drag area again and the window jumps back to the original shape.

Good to know!
