Is there any easy way to convert papers in #PDF format into #epub without messing up the formatting?

I generally download papers from #ieeexplore #acm and #arxiv. My ebook reader is #Android.

Por eso, ahora que lo tengo registrado, me pareció que era un buen día para anunciar el #pre-lanzamiento de mi próximo libro.

Se llama #LaJovenQueSoplabaCaracoles, y contiene 15 obras de #narrativa #latinoamericana.

La novedad más interesante es que la primera edición será la #EdiciónFediverso, gratuita y sólo disponible desde aquí. Estará en formato #epub y pdf con la letra accesible #atkinsonhyperlegible. Se alojará en la nube #nextcloud de #undernetuy.

En #Uruguay tenemos un #diadellibro cada 26 de mayo.
Invito a quienes les guste la #escritura a preparar su #EdiciónFediverso y soltarla el próximo 26 de mayo bajo una licencia CC. No importa el género. Hay un mes por delante. ¿Alguien se prende?

bon j'ai encore essayé un paquet de lecteurs d'epub pour Android, c'est pas fameux.

KOReader : pas compatible avec mon appareil
Book's Story : pas de navigation par page (que du scrolling)
LxReader : choix de la police sans effet.
ProseReader : bouffe une partie du texte (!)
Chaka Book Reader : que sur fond blanc.
etc.

Librera Reader semble pour le moment le meilleur, même s'il fait 53 Mo (!).

A reminder that #SROP books are not on Amazon.com, & while we live & breathe, our books will never be on Amazon or other "big box" stores. We don't, and will never, use #AI to do anything.

You can always get SROP books for free in #EPUB or #MOBI format (or order the print editions if you cherish paperbacks).

Leyendo un artículo he visto la referencia a un libro sobre diseño web para desarrolladores, en inglés. Por curiosidad, ya que no pienso comprarlo, he ido a ver si estaba en español.
En Amazon estaba solo en inglés: 41.01€ en papel y...41.37€ en Kindle.

Resulta sorprendente. Les compras el Kindle para comprar sus libros, recientemente han decidido que los libros que has pagado no son tuyos, solo "te los dejan" y las diferencias de precio entre los libros de papel y los electrónicos han disminuido muchísimo, los libros electrónicos son desproporcionadamente caros.

Y este caso ya casi resulta cómico. El libro electrónico es MAS CARO que el de papel.

Piratas del mundo: contáis con todo mi apoyo en vuestra lucha contra la tiranía editorial.

Autores, admiro vuestra vocación, porque se que no sois vosotros los que se van a hacer ricos, sois más bien los galeotes que reman en los bancos de las editoriales y mega-tiendas.

Amazones y demás dinosaurios ambiciosos del mundo editorial, contáis con todo mi desprecio y evitare en la medida de lo posible contribuir a vuestra dictadura.
