6. Small developer in UK. Not clear where the "StrongBox Pro Sync" service lives, but it is not required for synch because you can use any file in the (local or remote-mounted) filesystem, SFTP or WebDAV to wherever, or multiple commercial cloud storage tools.
1. Native KeePass 2 vault format, so other programs can use the encrypted vault files. Each device has a complete copy of each vault, which can be opened offline if you have the passphrase, key file, or physical security key used to encrypt it.
2. Includes multiple peer-to-peer (ish) and cloud-based synch options including SFTP & WebDAV. Works with Syncthing/MobiusSync if you want to be truly masterless. Has bespoke synch service of their own.

3. Runs on macOS and iOS, licensed per-platform not per-device. License is shareable across 6 devices via Apple Family Sharing. Vaults can be shared freely amongst any number of KeePass-compatible programs on any platform.
4. SBP itself only runs on iOS and macOS, but its vault files are usable by any KeePass-compatible tool.
5. Exports as CSV or KeePass. Imports from KeePass, 1Pass, LastPass, iCloud Keychain (via exported CSV) and others. (2/3)
I don't have a solution for all of those precise specifics but I've seen so many similar queries that I had to get the urge to answer out of my system...
A about #Passwords #PasswordManagers #Strongbox
If one is mostly on Apple devices trying to avoid storing your secrets on other people's storage while sharing them between your own and maybe other devices, the StrongboxPro password manager provides answers for me: https://mk.absturztau.be/notes/a6gnynjjzuda01zb
Noch so ein Verkauf, der mich mehr als skeptisch reagieren lässt. #strongbox #komoot

I‘m actually considering going back to @1password …
I need something which
- works seamlessly across devices and operating systems
- can hold more secrets than just username and passwords
- supports sharing with family
- will still work for my family without me, in case something happens
- looks trustworthy to me
Oh no, some company has bought the password manager I like to use. This probably won't end well.
#KeePass compatible iOS app, #Strongbox sold to New York firm, Applause.
Article in is German but if you are on iOS you should have no problem translating it.

I can recommend #StrongBox password manager for people using #Apple ecosystem. They're doing password manager right. Here are some of my personal reasons for liking this software a lot:
- Flexible sharing: Any amount of containers, in any mix (local or cloud). Includes built-in StrongBox Sync, but also has direct integrations to OneDrive, Dropbox and Google Drive. Since you can place the container in any filesystem location you can use whichever cloud solution you prefer (I use my personal #Nextcloud instance). The application can be used completely offline if needed.
- Flexible security: Each container can have their customized security options so for example you can keep your really important work stuff protected with YubiKey, longer passcodes or similar. Convenience unlock via biometrics or pincode or both biometric *and* pincode. Desktop and mobile can use different methods to convenience unlock. Convenience unlock timeout is configurable.
- Support for flexible Duress PIN methods: Either present a fake (fully configurable) password vault, or wipe the vault if duress PIN is entered.
- No vendor lock-in since the database effectively is #Keepass4 compatible and can be managed with any Keepass compatible app. I use #KeepassXC to access the containers on other non-apple platforms.
- Good import support from inferior software such as #1password.
- Option for lifetime license instead of being leeched monthly fees.
@josh I‘m using #Strongbox for macOS and iOS which can sync via different backends like a local SFTP server or something else.
I‘m pretty sure something similar exists for android. I thing synching via syncthing should work.
I‘m only synching locally.
Regrets, not really. Sharing with family members just means copying items to other keepass vaults, does not happen that often.
@linuxnews Danke, einfach danke.
