@TheMorpheus Frage mich nur, was "Schon immer so" bei knapp Ü20ern heißt.
Außer mit Powershell rum zu fummeln bietet Windows meines Wissens nach auch kein gutes Bordmittel zum validieren von Checksums. Und weil mir #Windows zu kompliziert war, hab ich über #WSL #Ubuntu gestartet und darin mit sha256 die geladene EXE geprüft.
Zum Glück kann (nicht darf) ich im #homeoffice und in der Berufsschule mit #linux arbeiten. Und da geht es mir nicht mal um #privacy, sondern einfach um #Usability.

The direct path to your goal is a #Winex distro where #wine comes by default maximally configured by Wine experts.
You can create a separate #Windows 2000 style DE if you want, possibly from actual Windows EXE and DLL files running on Wine.
Your first post was how you’ve never gotten Wine working. It was challenging for me as well.
However, if it’s distro oriented that takes a lot of the headache out of it and then the focus can be on improving application support itself.
Just had an idea. With the end of Windows 10 support approaching and my new computer imminent that will be primarily Linux i'm think of starting a Youtube channel for new Linux users and to document my journey back into Linux.

Недавно, при попытке за'UPSCALE'ть свою домашнюю коллекцию хентая, утилита для UPSCALE'нга Video2X Qt6 выдала мне кучу ошибок, и даже многократно закрылась. Причина выявилась не сразу, ибо изначально мне казалось, что виноваты странные имена файлов, но ларчик просто открывался: входящие изображения были разного размера, в том числе, гигантского. Уменьшив до 0.5 мегапикселей, я смог закончить UPSCALE'нг быстро и спокойно.

#Linux is much user-friendlier than it was even a few years ago, and there are lots of other benefits in having a computer that isn't constantly trying to get one over on you. But I agree that it isn't yet ready for the average person to install and use without help.
I look at it like this: #Windows will boot up and appear to work on your machine, but you're at risk of viruses, fraud, spyware, vendor lock-in, advertisements, dark patterns, and generally being treated like a cash cow. In contrast, Linux will occasionally not support all your hardware and you may encounter problems that take time and research to solve, but the OS and the apps you run are working for you rather than against you. No one is spying on you, advertising at you, trying to lock you in, or demanding expensive subscriptions.
It's annoying and unjust that the bulk of the market has gone to the extractive OS and ecosystem, but every person who uses and advocates for Linux helps to break Microsoft's hegemony.

Fun times. My modem seems to be dying. I cant stream from my TV device, and any website loads slow, over a few devices. If at all.
Windows 10 bairly loads up for sign in after start up. I am guessing that the Win-spyware is having it rough with the dying modem. ..The poor dear. 
If the spyware is that prevasive, from -login-, that is too much. Installing linux has moved up my list.

Just had the weirdest experience with my #windows PC.
A client sent me a link to a #MicrosoftTeams meeting that i participated in via my #firefox browser.
In the beginning it was just me and one other person in the call, and everything was fine. As soon as the 3rd and final person joined the call however my computer kind of went haywire - it was as if the mouse was suddenly clicking on random places on the screen and opening up random apps. I had to really struggle to close things down and keep focused on the meeting.
It persisted even after I left the call, closed down the firefox window and I had to do a hard restart of the computer to get it to stop, cause I couldn't even control the mouse to shut down normally.
Everything was fine again as soon as I restarted the system.
Anyone have any idea what might have caused this? And how to avoid it happening again?
Eine Frage, die ich hier schon öfter gestellt hab als alle anderen Fragen: Wie bringt man #Windows dazu, die korrekte Uhrzeit anzuzeigen?
Wenn ich die Automatik ("Uhrzeit automatisch festlegen") einschalte, zeigt es nach einiger Zeit 2h zu früh an. Drückt man dann (was bei AUTOMATIK überflüssig sein sollte) auf "jetzt synchronisieren" stimmt die Uhrzeit wieder.
Wenn ich die Automatik ausschalte, passiert exakt dasselbe, obwohl es EIGENTLICH bedeuten sollte, dass ICH die Uhrzeit einstelle und Windows seine verschissenen Griffel davon lässt.

That's great, but do you see how it sounds to people outside the #Windows world? Your operating system vendor has gradually become your adversary. One way or another, you still end up dancing to #Microsoft's tune.
Your computer shouldn't be a tool for wringing money and data out of you. You shouldn't need to trick your OS vendor in order to get security updates. That's not a healthy relationship.
I acknowledge that I'm in an equally unhealthy relationship myself, because I'm writing this on an Android phone and using Blokada to shelter from surveillance and advertising. I'm not criticising you: I'm bemoaning the state of the major consumer operating systems at the moment.

#Syncthing just got first 2.0 version out, and for #Windows there is a new #Synctrayzor rewrite in https://github.com/GermanCoding/SyncTrayzor under development. They both probably need few bug releases though.
I have one Synctrayzor now updated to v2. There was one issue with localhost address, which needed uncommenting localhost in Windows hosts file. After that, working ok, and the issue fix will be in next release.
Syncthing is a rock-solid open source synchronizer, and i have expanded it's usage over the years, now to about dozen devices. I'm syncing phones, Raspberries, laptops, desktops, servers, and firewalls, updating off-site backups, and thrown out all Google-, MS-, Dropbox-drives. I even replaced most of rsync due to Syncthing's superior reliability. I have donated to Syncthing.
