There's so many great scenery photographers on fedi, and my mom is having a lot of trouble finding good photography jigsaw puzzles, making me wish I could use the former to solve the latter. Anybody publish their photos as puzzles? #AskFedi

#AskFedi #Android is there a keyboard for Android that has offline multilingual autoccorrect that does not freak out by mixing languages in the same sentence?
I think not, but welcome FOSS or commercial recommendations as long as they are entirely offline (no call home, no stat tracking, no AI, no usage, offline means offline).
I'm trying HelisBoard but it stumbles on multilingual part. Have to keep switching between languages.
Do you trust Linus Sebastian?
(I tried to find the most neutral possible image I could get, I didn't find any so here's a potato instead)
#askFedi #SadSysadmin
Am I actually really thick, or why don't I understand the #fediverse I need to #askfedi why is it that with activitypub I cant just have my one account, and use it to post on lemmy, peertube, pixelfed etc etc? Feel like I'm missing something really obvious?
Those of you who taught yourself to code at a young age, how old were you and what language was it, and on what platform?
How would you suggest replicating the experience for current or future generations?
For me it was BASIC at about 13 years old, but I think it would have been much sooner if I had regular access to a computer sooner. I started on a used Commodore 128D but ended up on a Laser Apple II clone.
Can anyone recommend an app for Android for raising the volume during phone calls? Not the ringing, the talking during the calls.
Thanks!
Hey Fedi!
I need yet another chain tool. Do you have a recommendation for a good one that doesn't bend after a few uses?
The dumbphone I bought like a year ago is such bad quality that it’s already significantly broken, only barely usable if you squint. I should get something more reasonable, and it can either be a decent quality dumbphone or something I can slap a Linux on and send SMSs over ssh. What are the current best options in these areas?
How would you approach painting these speakers?
The original fake wood texture is falling off. Underneath we have glazed particle board. I want to prime it and then paint it with a matte varnish.
Do I need to sand the particle board before applying undercoat? Do I need undercoat to begin with?

Is there a youtube/peertube/wherever channel out there somewhere that has the vibes of Bernadette Banner, but the content is non-gendered or traditionally-male clothing? I love watching that kind of content but I'd really like to make some of the garments instead of just admiring the craft.
I'm late to this train ride.
I was holding out on game consoles for the Switch 2, thinking it would meet my needs for recent 2D platforming games. But the introduction has been rather, well, underwhelming. I might one day get an original Switch and call it good.
So I'm looking at a Sony PS5. It has a lot of classic games (my vibe) before fighting games and photorealistic driving games were a "thing". Give me an 80s or early 90s game, and I'm in bliss.
The question is: can I get by with the digital version, or do I really need a disk drive for the classics? I think many of the games could be available on PS Plus, but am not sure.
Thanks all!
I need to test another feature of @badgefed@vocalcat.com who is available right now and wants a badge from @badgefed@badges.vocalcat.com ?
Help me test decentralized badges.
Boston area peeps: I need a couple of jewelry gift boxes (you know, the cardboard ones, flat piece of cotton in it, big enough or a bracelet).
In a past life I used to always have a few stashed away, kept from birthday-to-christmas-to-birthday-to... etc, but I find myself now with none.
I went to Michael's and they normally have them but were out of stock. I can order online and have them delivered to the store, but is there anywhere else local that I'm not thinking of that might have such things? (I do have time to order them but if there was someplace that had them in stock, would be easier...)
Thanks!

when writing teenage fiction, how many words in a chapter are:
too few?
too many?
It's all fluid, but currently I have as few as 1800, and as many as 4600. There is sufficient scope to split or combine some of the work that's already been done, without disturbing the natural flow of the material.
(and thinking about density, how many words per page? I have no constraints on the dimensions of the book, or the cost of having it printed)
HELP: I'm quitting Meta and want to bulk download photos I'm tagged in (photos uploaded by my friends) on Facebook. It's easy to view thumbnails of them all on one screen, but they only download individually.
Is there a browser extension or application that will bulk download the fullsize images from a web page of thumbnails?
Linux / Firefox, but be warned I'm a novice with Linux.
(To be clear, I already used Facebook's option to export all my own data, but that didn't include "Photos of me".)
