Let's remember who Pierre hangs out with. He might not like the Christian nationalists and authoritarians, but they sure all think he's their guy.

Diagolon is a hell of far-right extremist group, just in case people complacently think the threat isn't also here in #Canada right now. Time to make a stand against this crap.

I am definitely hopeful that Canada will remain strong in the face of American aggression with Mark Carney as Prime Minister. I can't help but feel saddened that his first move is to kill the carbon tax. The carbon tax is a logical policy in line with free market economics - incentivize change by pushing up the price of the pollutant. Even with the rebates they offered to make it revenue neutral, it is very clear that there is too much opposition to a regressive tax like this to make it politically viable. Alas, it seem the only way forward to reduce greenhouse gases is to make alternatives to fossil fuel energy usage, and to do the hard work of bottom up cultural change to reduce society's energy footprint.

I voted for the Green Party several times in federal elections because I really believed in the carbon tax policy, but I think it is over now.

Goodness..even the Globe & Mail ...has the tide officially turned...

"There’s a reason the wartime directive is “keep calm and carry on.”
#Canada won’t get through the years ahead without a Prime Minister who models emotional discipline & gives us the faith that we can carry on – while we also care for and help each other.
We need someone who can unite and inspire.
I don’t think that person is Mr. #Poilievre."

@mcc Alt option: #Canada could use that money to hire 1,000 former US #DIB R&D, military, and intelligence workers, wrongfully fired for being trans or another persecuted identity, and hire them to consult for a joint defence development venture between Canadian and European manufacturers and militaries.
