The people who are recommending that others delete their data from #23andMe keep neglecting to also recommend that people download & SAVE their raw DNA data file first, so that they don't have to pay for another DNA test & so that they can upload the file elsewhere.

Mentioned the other day that I requested the deletion of my DNA data file & my account at #23andMe in order to avoid the possibility 23&Me is acquired by or sells the data to another company.
However, I had previously downloaded my raw DNA data file which I had already uploaded elsewhere.
So, if you had 23&Me do your DNA testing & are thinking of doing the same thing, you should download a copy of your raw DNA file first, so that you can upload it to other DNA assessment & matching sites, like Ancestry.com & others and don't have to pay for another DNA test done to be done elsewhere.

Whew, genetic information testing, what could possibly go wrong I always thought? I'm glad I never did it.
But if you have been tested by 23andMe, you may want to request that your data be deleted & your sample, if stored, be destroyed.

Genetic testing has always interested me, but I've never actually gone ahead and done it.
I was just reading an article which claimed that the predominant reaction from people who *have* done it was "meh".
If you've done it, what was your reaction when you saw your results?

My problem with that question runs very deep. "The World" generally does not do #GeneticTesting for #autism. Second, I mentioned to you last week about #AutismSundowning theory of late-diagnosis. For many people that slip under diagnosis, I think language / communications / thinking is a primary symptom, not secondary.
If you avoid genetic testing as the basis for diagnosing autism, then it is subjective. And that's the entire point of McLuhan's life work.
This should be bigger news.
23andMe stock is less than $1. They have until Nov 4th to get it above $1 or be delisted. The entire board has quit.
Wojcicki should appeal to 23andMe customers to keep it from being sold. Sale = privacy policies vanish. We are must impacted.
