I swear, Sabine is about to wear camo and put on a helmet. She is a genuine shit disturber. So, she sent her regular email. These are my words, but the first paragraph paraphrases her:

The first American company on the list is IBM, at 20. The first European company is Bosh, down at 24. The top 10 are all Asian. 7 are Chinese.

Who is designing the future? Not us. We're inspecting genitalia and bashing intellect as "woke," something to be shunned.

The future is China's. That so-called communist country, "Red" China, is swimming in patents, while the capitalist countries wage war against each other, and their own people, pleasing corrupt pigs ruling over deliberate decay from the decks of their superyachts, utterly stifling creativity with AI junk tech, shorting us at every turn.

We've got junk food. We've got junk tech. They're building the future.

We have homelessness. They have gleaming cities awaiting people interested in living in them.

We are not the same. We are permanently cruel, and from this point on, forever behind, for we are capitalists and we elect crooks.

China will be showing off its brand-new weapons technology, handiwork of the world's leader in patents. We're throwing Canadians into gulags to please a 34-time felon and rapist. We are not the same.

Yeah. Really no way around it. This Pixel Launch was a bad show. You could see how much money was spent on AstroTurfing celeb endorsements and hosting. The staging and presentations were less engaging than QVC. There were no big reveals. It felt horribly inauthentic.

And this is for PIXEL TEN. The TENTH Pixel was something of an afterthought in most of the demos and presentations. Just remember how wild the reactions were for iPhone X.

The hottest trending topic in tech right now is the price hike on Playstation. Google completely dropped the ball here.

From sun-soaked beaches to towering stacks of books, San Diego offers no shortage of places to get wonderfully lost. While card catalogs and call numbers may be a thing of the past, the city’s libraries remain true gems—welcoming spaces to escape, explore, and discover something new, all for free. Here are five of our favorites.

San Diego Central Library

Iconic for its steel latticework dome and soaring nin-estory reading room, the San Diego Central Library is an architectural feat. Since its relocation to the East Village in 2013, this downtown escape has also become home to the state-of-the-art Judith Harris Art Gallery, which features year-round exhibitions by local artists. Don’t miss the IDEA Lab, full of digital arts resources, vinyl cutters, and tools to digitize old media.

Address: 330 Park Blvd, East Village
Hours: Wednesday–Saturday, 9:30 a.m.–6 p.m.; Sunday, Closed; Monday-Tuesday, 11:30 a.m.–8 p.m.

Encinitas Public Library

With floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Pacific Ocean, the Encinitas Public Library offers quiet study spaces paired with coastal views. Just don’t be surprised if the lure of waves makes focusing a bit challenging. It’s the perfect spot to pretend you’re working while soaking in salty sea air, just a short walk from downtown Encinitas’ lively food and drink scene.

Address: 540 Cornish Dr, Encinitas
Hours: Monday & Thursday 10 a.m.–6 p.m.; Tuesday-Wednesday, 12 p.m.–7 p.m.; Friday–Sunday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.
