Someone here boosted a post I can't find that was about one of use-cases for AI was handling loneliness.
That forced me on some tangential thought track, contemplating that working with AI (let's put it aside if worth it or not for now) triggers brain circuits similar to working with human peers (non-scientific assumption/observation).
Now there's a profession where workers are say 95% forced to use AI (even if the meeker, non-LLM kind): #translators. They get pretranslated text....

Donald Keene introduced Japanese literature to the United States. During World War II, when violence had consumed the world, he found his place in the American military as a translator, and befriended the queer writers of 1940s Tokyo. He never publicly came out, but I believe his identity was something that enormously shaped his view of the world and his nonviolent role within the war. He translated the diaries of kamikaze pilots who had died, showing that their last thoughts were not of devotion to the emperor or bloodthirsty nationalism, but rather revealed immense yearning for home and the people they loved.
Later, he was tasked with putting together an anthology that would be the first collection of Japanese literature to be accurately translated and introduced to American readers. Even over 50 years later, that collection remains the foundational anthology of Japanese literature in English—not because there's still a dearth of translated works, but because it was so impeccably curated. He became naturalized and lived out the rest of his life in Japan, passing away at 96 on February 24th, 2019.
