Wordpress' editor is just total garbage, I've decided. Fiddly, obtuse and annoying.

I'm now looking at building a blog in 11ty and throwing it up on Neocities. 11ty's built around the fabulous Markdown, meaning it's the perfect use-case for my beloved Obsidian.

Neocities, eh? Maybe for kicks I'll search on Lycos for some cool Myspace pages and fire up Winamp for that authentic llama-whipping late-90's-internet feel.

My wife found a #MySpace China t-shirt from when I worked at MySpace and we launched in China.

You know, when things like #myspace and #facebook started popping up, I was smart enough at about 13 years old to think "Hey, I bet you this is gonna get used to manipulate people politically in my lifetime," and usually got ignored by folks older than me as some kind of kid-like conspiracy.

Nobody took the idea seriously until it happened.

Anyone who used MySpace remember a game on it, Outworld? It was this cool space resource management strategy sim you did within your MySpace network, kind of like others called Mobsters, Heroes, and Bloodlines. I guess they were considered PvP games.
