I'm working on a book of deeply computer-related poems, each paired with a vignette. I think they fit perfectly here in Mastodon!

I have had nice comments and feedback about VerbaMea.com. Thank you to everyone who has taken a moment to look.
If you ever need a page published on the internet, but don't have/want a blog post, this is the place to make it happen quickly an efficiently. No login. Just type an save. Published.
At a writer's workshop today where the topic was writing mystery and every time someone mentioned "red herring" all I could think was "communism was just a red herring".
I leveraged (is that an acceptable word?) our recent holiday for thoughts on why sometimes only a novel is sufficient. #writing #ghostwriting

I made a post about the #tea app data being breached, and everyone was exposed.
Someone who used it got onto my comments here on #mastodon and then immediately became toxic when I did not agree with them after following me for months.
...Exactly like how I'd imagine anyone who uses a gossip/drama app would behave.
Funny how everything always shows after a while.
Edit- There is no place for toxicity on my page. You will be blocked immediately.
#Writingcommunity #writing #bookstodon "It isn’t filled with too much technology, which often confuses me, and focuses on some great characters. Cat is brilliant. The way the various species interact instead of humans being superior worked well for me and, along with a bit of mystery, kept me turning the pages."
I am glad I made this #writing project on #mastodon as I #rant constantly, and used to write in a more disorganized way.
The limited space forces me to write efficiently, and my grammar/punctuation skills have gotten better.
I never liked obtuse, flowery lexicon as I am as blunt as they come. This writing style suits me, and I enjoy how this project makes me think.
But I like to maintain some elegant language too, as I don't care for sounding stupid.
Call me ANYTHING but.
#WritersCoffeeClub 26 Jul: Talk about the most difficulty you had writing something sensory.
I have this desire, over and over again, to describe *stuff* that defy sensory definition, that's beyond comprehensible. It often doesn't work, but I'm going to keep trying to crack it.
#WordWeavers July 26 Do you have any fight scenes in your work?
Yes. Lots. It's set in a cult/school for child soldiers with superpowers, and they have sorta kinda psyionic swords, so there's a big tournament, but then real fights with real stakes later on. I'm trying to make them actually scary, actually dangerous, but my readers will tell me if I pull that off.
I just found out I've been using the en-dash for thirty years when I should have been using em-dash—I'm ashamed.

If/when you read my book, will you leave me a review?
I don't expect you to kiss my arse, just be honest and write a few words.
Amazon reviews are influential (I don't make the rules!) and you just need an account, not to have bought it from there. But a review anywhere would be so appreciated.
Authors work hard to get books out there, but we cannot do it without readers. I am very grateful for all your support.
Is it time to eat more chocolate yet??

Describing unknown foods is always a challenge. But at one point the MC directly confronts things like macroscale quantum states, and Time itself. Describing what *that* feels like took a lot of passes.
Mostly it's a list of what that's *not* like. Guess that'll show up on the 28th!

#ScribesAndMakers 26. Talk about the book that got fewest votes.
The Tales of Genji by Lady Murasaki.
The novel is about the life of Hikaru Genji, the son of the Emperor and a low-ranked concubine.Genji is exiled from court for political reasons but is later pardoned.
Lady Murasaki lived during the Heian period of Japanese history (794-1195) and she based the story on her experiences at the Fujiwara court.
