I love open minded people, and love Sam Parnia. This is very very interesting.
Cracking the “#Neural Code”: How #AI Will Surpass #Human #Intelligence

A web based tool, free to use, designed for education and teaching. Not heavy duty for professional use. #rie2024 #machine-learning #image-processing #neural-net #teaching #education : "Teachable Machine"(https://teachablemachine.withgoogle.com/)
A team from the University of Geneva has succeeded in modeling an artificial #neural #network capable of this #cognitive prowess. After learning and performing a series of basic tasks, this #AI was able to provide a linguistic description of them to a ‘‘sister’’ AI, which in turn performed them.

Based on my experience and testing, the following online translators are good for the following languages.
My favourite: https://papago.naver.com
* Korean (use the honorific option)
* Japanese (don't use the honorific option)
* Chinese
* Thai
* Indonesian
* Vietnamese
I haven't tested Spanish, French, German, Russian, Portuguese, Italian, and Hindi, which are available on #Naver #Papago.
Second in rank: https://deepl.com
* Brazilian Portuguese
* Portuguese
* Turkish
* Polish
* German
* French
* Italian
* Spanish
I haven't tested Bulgarian, Chinese (simplified), Czech, Danish, Dutch, Estonian, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swedish, Ukrainian.
For Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, I get complaints that the translation is weird. I use Naver's Papago translation instead.
Special mention, #DeepL is the only one with Brazilian Portuguese.
Summary:
1: Naver's Papago for East and South-East Asian languages.
Also, Naver's Papago translation service also offers OCR translation and pronunciation/voice, and other learning features.
They also offer an installable app for #Android, #iOS, and #Mac platforms, other than the web version.
2: DeepL for European languages
3: Yandex for Russian and other European languages, also good with Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Japanese (but I still prefer Naver Papago). Yandex also offers #OCR translation.

How about you? What's your experience with the #Neural translators above?
Or maybe you know of other Neural translator services?
this may be a silly little thing, but it shows how using a social media site for 16 years affects muscle memory: i still hit the star instead of the ribbon to bookmark a toot.
back on #twitter one of my followers said they have a hard time relating to the ui; while another said they had suburban (and by that i mean white) gated community anxiety when looking at the fediverse.
and this is why the corporatocracy went all in on social media: they know they can affect us at a #neural level
A complete understanding of the '#neural #correlates of #consciousness' requires that we start considering the #neurobiology of #language and #innerspeech.
