Curious what y’all call this type of form input. I have my own name (won’t share just yet as to not taint the answers), but I rarely find that everyone uses the same name for it.

While I’m primarily targeting UI designers/developers, I’m happy to see answers from anyone.

What do y’all call it?

HTML search input with a partially-typed phrase that reads “some information oth.” There is a typing cursor after the “h.” Below the input is a menu with a list of words that match the typed phrase, each extending beyond the input phrase to reveal the words “othello,” “other,” “othering,” and “otherworldly.”

ilo.imPassing Your CSS Theme to `canvas` :: Aaron GustafsonWhile working on a recent project I noticed an issue with a canvas-based audio visualization when I toggled between light and dark modes. When I’d originally set it up I was browsing in dark mode and the light visualization stroke showed up perfectly on the dark background, but it was invisible when viewed using the light theme (which I’d neglected to test). I searched around, but didn’t find any articles on easy ways to make canvas respond nicely to user preserences, so I thought I’d share (in brief) how I solved it.
