Hi, Cameron! I also enjoy C# programming, though I'm using it professionally rather than for fun. I use .NET for #bioinformatics research. My code is frequently appalling; the first versions of the software I'm writing now were crafted in Emacs but built with the .NET 4.0 command line compiler. One of my junior colleagues created some features that required that I update to the Visual Studio build system instead...

Here, authors introduce EvoWeaver, a de novo method to identify genes working together using evolutionary information. EvoWeaver can help to infer functions for understudied proteins using only genomic sequences.
Question for #archaea #microbiology #bioinformatics folks: I'm looking at a specific contig in an Archaeal genome with repeat elements that remain difficult to resolve even with 100~1000x coverage and minimum 10k read length.
Anyone else dealt with something similar? What could I even be looking at?
