Calling all those who signed up to The Storybook Sock Box - The Wizard Of Oz - it's time for the big reveal!

Introducing 'The Wizard Of Oz' - a 100g skein of hand dyed 100% British Bluefaced Leicester 4 ply high twist sock yarn along with a contrasting 25g mini skein perfect for heels, toes and cuffs.

Included in the box is a copy of the book, a set of stitchmarkers, a postcard and a sticker.

Boxes are already on their way. Happy knitting!

Finished! The decreases after the heel turn are unusual in this and the bias ribbing wants to sit differently on my foot so I don't know that I'd recommend the pattern, but I do like the final look!

Pattern: Polished by Hunter Hammersen (from Shoreline Socks)
Yarn: some leftovers from Must Stash

Sock 1 completed Catherine Macaulay by #KateDavies "This design is named for the eighteenth-century's most radical national historian. Hugely famous in her own time, but little known in ours, Macaulay wrote an eight volume #History of England (to rival that of her contemporary David Hume), supported the democratic, anti-imperial aims of the American and French revolutions, and argued that women's educational opportunities should be equal to those of men." #knitting #handmade #sockknitting

I have been a busy lil bee today. Got work-work knocked out, then made a trip to the Post Office to return an Amazon order/buy snacks for tomorrow. Then I had a bath. Which means I'm tired AF, but never mind. *laughs* I did get most of my fayre prep sorted yesterday; today I think I'll make a point to load my display stuff into the car. The less to do tomorrow morning, the better.

For now, get the yarn left from the socks I finish balled up and stored, and then get a new pair started. Best to go find a pattern.

Making sure to be low key and not do a lot. Which is to say, I have three different games up, and am slowly pecking at sock #2. Yup, got the first one finished just before I went to bed last night, and made sure the fit was correct (it was).

Past that, my back is still being achy and confusing and rude. Doing my best to sit up and stretch it, which... that's what I do pretty much every day? Which is why it's confusing that there's ache?

Anyhoos. Onward, upward, etc.

Being well and truly enabled by @thegiddystitcher, I am preparing to #knit my first pair of socks (with single coloured practice yarn, not this bougie one...yet)! Cast on and started wondering why I was struggling so badly with my first row. Forgot I had learned to knit English style and was attempting to knit Continental 🤦‍♀️ I get the feeling this project will be full of lessons 😅 #knitting #sockknitting

#CastingOn

About to cast-on a new #SockKnitting project. The #yarn is pictured. Details are:
Patons - Kroy Socks
75% Wool, 25% Nylon
Grey Brown Marl colorway

I'll be #knitting with size US 1 steel DPNs

I won't be using any one particular pattern but a mash-up of things I like from various patterns. High points being:
Turkish cast-on about 20st
Japanese short rows for the heel
Jenny's stetchy bind off
