Cit of Roswell 10/20/24 0930am MT: "...Many motorists became stranded when their vehicles got stuck in flood waters on many streets. Some people had to await rescue on top of their vehicles that were covered by water. Some vehicles were swept by the water into the river channel. One fatality has been confirmed as a result of the flooding. Search-and-rescue efforts are still underway this morning. ..."

Man " was attempting to reach Phantom Ranch for an overnight stay via the South Kaibab Trail.

In the summer, temperatures on exposed parts of the trail can reach over 120°F (49 °C) in the shade. Park rangers strongly advise not hiking in the inner canyon during the heat of the day between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. "

Youth struck by train, Santa Barbara, mention of death

The Coroner’s Bureau is releasing the identity of the decedent who was accidentally struck by a train near Fernando Point yesterday. Decedent is 15-year-old Ryan Bradley Chapman from Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara High School, where Chapman was a student, will be opening a Compassion Center for students and their families from 9am-3pm today and tomorrow in the Alumni Room.
