I promised to post a link to the "Amazingly Good Eggnog" recipes IF it turned out: it DID! So, 4/4 taste testers agree it's far better than any store-bought. It doesn't make as much as you think--maybe 8 mugs to serve, unless you add the 1 1/2 cups liquor, ha ha! Ours is for family so it's virgin. Worth the time, not hard to make, and yes, it's worth waiting the 24 hours. Maybe a little taste at 9 hours like we did. If you have any ?, just ask.

OK, Alton Brown said to wait at least 14 days before being able to properly enjoy his egg nog and today is the day.

😋 I swapped out Brandy for the Bourbon in his recipe, my taste preference, and it is very good! Some extra effort to whisk the egg yolks and sugar together until you get a ribbon, but the resulting mouthfeel is very nice. Alton recommends leaving the nog in the fridge for a couple of months. Yeah, but no.

😋 If you have the time, you can easily make better-tasting nogs than store-bought. And try the coconut-based Puerto Rican 'Coquito' when you have a chance. Addictive!

Here’s the finished eggnog, so at least you have an idea what quantity this recipe makes. I think I’m “supposed” to show a glorious mug of eggnog now, but “everyone” says wait 24 hours. We each had a spoonful and were pleased! Can’t wait to later today when 1/2 goes in the “virgin” bottle and the other I’ll had rum, bourbon, whiskey and/or brandy. Just to try it for the record 😉#TipOfDay

Recipe comes when we do try it for reals.
