We kick off Developer Weekend Day 2 by showcasing the #musical #rhythm #3DPlatformer game @BillieBustUp!
We’re working on a 3D platformer trading card game!
Now what exactly is that?
It’s kind of like if you bought a board game at the store, but you leaped into the game and became the size of a playing piece. The characters you come across will provide different challenges and rewards. As you can explore the world, you will find more cards to customize your deck.
Today's video is all about the great upcoming 3D platformers! Yooka-Replaylee, Demon Tides, Skylar 64, The Knightling, and Kero Quest 64 mean the future of the genre is bright!
My blog is live, with my first post being a look at 3D platformer prototypes from various sources.
I played the abandoned Kickstarter game Lobodestroyo, the decade-old prototype for Corn Kidz 64, and a couple of forgotten games inspired by Spyro.
I'd appreciate it if you gave it a look!
A little #3Dplatformer #game I've been developing as a hobby in my free time. I do intend to release it someday if I'm ever able to finish it, but it's still in very early develpment as you can see. The idea is that you're a kid and your goal is to rescue lost cats and dogs (and other types of pets). I'm making it in #GodotEngine, and the models and animations in #Blender.
The #RandyandManilla #Steam page turns one year old.
Current progress on the moveset for my 3D platformer going through part of the level I'm currently working on. The movement is still a WIP with some basic placeholder animations.

Don't you just hate it when you're minding your own business and those pesky traffic cones start ganging up on you?
This is a new personal project of mine. A 3D platformer that will be very simple and short, but hopefully I'll be able to finish it and finally release a game of my own.
In this video we can see the first two types of enemies: cars and traffic cones. I made and animated them in Blender.

Progress so far on the first level, just kinda a first pass with some objects. Will later add some more foliage and other things
Been going a bit slowly on it as I've also been working on other projects too.
Maybe about almost a quarter of the way done with this

Been recently working on blocking out the first level. I had redesigned it again since the last sketch I had, but I'm now much more happy with how it look.
I like how the level kinda wraps around itself.
Still a bit more to tweak but overall its mostly done

Been working on a material for a idea I had for something for the attacking. The flame effect was mostly just me going through trial and error with it, wanted to attempt it myself first with all the knowledge I've previously learnt about materials. I quite like how it looks now after quite a few iterations
(Just texturing the base model right now and will rig then model the clothes)
Just a little tweak that I tried out with the tail, have it go down a bit more instead of straight out and I think it looks better, and looks like it has some weight to it.
Saw some other models do this and it looked better so decided to try it. Do you think this looks better than how it looked in my previous post?
Finally finished the base body model for the main character for my game. Probably will still tweak it a bit but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. Learnt alot through the process of making this.
Next will add the tail, head, hair, and ears.
Thinking of texturing and rigging it first before modelling the outfit so then if I make another outfit for them then will have the base rigged and textured already

Decided to show the progress of the base model for the main character, getting closer to being done with the body. I redid some of the topology for some parts to make it better as I went along but learning alot, and quite happy with how its turning out so far

WIP shards mechanic inspired by Mario Odyssey, collect all of them to get a main collectable. Still need to add a spawning animation and cutscene for the collectable
For the icons I learnt vector graphics to create them as I felt I would be able to create cleaner icons doing it that way, fairly happy with how it turned out.
(Also the main character is currently a placeholder)

Been working on a water freezing mechanic inspired by genshin. Took me a bit to figure out how to do it but I'm fairly happy with how it turned out and glad I figured out how to do it. Just used a slow cube as a test for the freezing, but plan to have other methods and things that freeze the water. (Also the character is just a placeholder)

My game has a feature where if you fall into the void you'll be placed on the last safe grounded position, its more forgiving than just dying and nicer than teleporting back, was inspired by Sly Cooper. Fairly happy with how it turned out, took me a bit to figure out how to do it.(The character is a placeholder model I found, working on my own design now)
