Sarah is (?was) a lovely woman who I went to church with 30 years ago, when I was a committed evangelical christian. I'm not friends with/following/interacting with anybody from that period of my life.

I have absolutely no idea how Facebook knows there's some sort of connection between us.

Because those who panic about it rarely mention anything about Googoe/Amazon/Facebook/Microsoft etc doing the same..

Like, sure.. tiktok steals data. Personal information of users has been one of the most profitable commodities for sale for a number of years now.

But they're all doing it, and if you're only protecting yourself against Big Bad China, you might want to take a moment to ask yourself why that actually is.

We need to get a new VPN.. suggestions would be great!

We use it mostly for certain activities that might not be exactly legal, as well as watching overseas catalogues of streaming services.

We'd like a company that doesn't just easily hand over info to law enforcement because we believe in the human right to privacy and want to support companies that also try to take a stand on that.

We were with VanishedVPN for years, but recently they seem to have become difficult to use and maybe aren't updating/servicing their stuff as much as they need to be..?

We're trying NordVPN now, but I'm not sure what they're actually like.. we just googled and they popped up. There was a fuck around with the pricing being listed in $US even though they knew we were in Australia and were charging us GST. It just seemed dodgy when we questioned why they didn't make the currency of their listed pricing more clear (literally the customer service guy said "why should we? You should know it's $US").

Can I please have suggestions.
