Mac Pro: M4 Ultra still on the way?
According to a code leak, Apple is still working on an Ultra version of the current M4 SoC. This is said to be intended for a new Mac Pro model.

I'll reserve all criticism for the Liquid Glass UI from Apple until it releases.
From my perspective: it will add nothing but nuances.
If you're angry about #Apple #Design #LiquidGlass because it makes Apple #UI less of what you like in any way, that's how #MacPro owners (not 2013 or 2023) feel about #AppleSilicon taking away their #GPU, Processor, & RAM upgrades, and losing post-purchase reconfigurability.

Ater 16 years my #MacPro has finally died.
I have no idea what the cause was, but it went offline over the weekend and I cannot get it to boot no matter what.
It's been on pretty much 24/7 since I got it, and has (through various means, not approved by Apple) gone from OSX Leopard (10.5) through to macOS 14 Sonoma with many hardware upgrades on the way.
It's the best design Apple ever released, has been a joy to use and I'm genuinely sad to see it go.

@fuchsiii the packaging (besides the logo) reminds me of the #SSD Kits #Apple sells for the #MacStudio and #MacPro.
- At least no #MacMini has #DRM to complain about a non-genuine SSD at this date which #iOS does for even original Apple parts! via #HughJeffreys
My suspicion is that the #M4Ultra runs too hot for the (admittedly impressive) thermal envelope of the #MacStudio and/or is too expensive. So it will be reserved for the forthcoming #MacPro model. #Apple https://apple.news/Ad4okK5qRQsikLu4u8wG14A
