Global Call for Personal or Archival Footage of Thich Nhat Hanh

Dear friends, Speakit Productions, the team behind the film "Walk With Me", is currently in production on Interbeing—the first authorised biographical film about Thầy’s life.

As part of this project, we are reaching out to the global Plum Village community to help uncover rare or unseen archival footage of Thầy from the 1950s through to 2010. The film team is particularly interested in footage from Vietnam, the US, Europe, and other parts of the world where Thầy travelled and taught. If you, or someone you know, have any old recordings—whether it's Super 8 reels, video tapes, or hidden away digital files—they would love to hear from you.

Please fill in a short form at bit.ly/TNHfootage with your details and information about the footage, and a member of the team will be in touch. Alternatively, you can reach them directly by email at: production+footage@speakit.org Interbeing is being created in close collaboration with Plum Village and will be released internationally in autumn 2026 to mark the centenary of Thầy’s birth.

Thank you for helping honor Thầy’s life and teachings.

"Therefore Sariputra,
it should be known that
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore
is a Great Mantra,
the most illuminating mantra,
the highest mantra,
a mantra beyond compare,
the True Wisdom that has the power
to put an end to all kinds of suffering.
Therefore let us proclaim
a mantra to praise
the Insight that Brings Us to the Other Shore."

Plum Village · New Heart Sutra translation by Thich Nhat Hanh | Plum VillageOn 11th September Thay completed a profound and beautiful new English translation of the Heart Sutra, one of the most important sutras in Mahayana Buddhism. This new English translation is based on…

« La Terre sur laquelle nous marchons est sacrée.
Nous devrions être très respectueux,
car nous savons que nous marchons sur notre mère.
Où que nous allions, nous marchons sur Mère Terre.
Alors, où que nous soyons, cela peut devenir un sanctuaire sacré. »

Reading a chapter of "Old Path White Clouds" every day until you're finished will forever change how you see the world. IMO the greatest novel about the life of the Buddha ever written.

Written by Thích Nhất Hạnh, a simple Vietnamese Buddhist monk, who had an amazing talent as both a gifted teacher and a gifted writer.

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child—our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”
― Thich Nhat Hanh, The Miracle of Mindfulness: An Introduction to the Practice of Meditation

Picked some cherry tomatoes from the community garden.

Thinking of what Thich Nhat Hahn said about a flower. You can see the sunlight, the soil, the cloud, the insects - all within this cherry tomato. You can see the people and the librarians that maintain the seed library from which the seeds came from and the harvested seeds will go back to. You can see the folks that will eat it and live another day. You can see the people that those folks can help by their actions after being fueled by these tomatoes.

It's a small thing. And empty thing. A thing able to be filled.

A wonderful thing.

“Love is the capacity to take care, to protect, to nourish” -- Thich Nhat Hanh

I recognize that I must lower my elevated blood pressure and improve my handling of the ignorant things said to me on a weekly basis by two coworkers. Seems ridiculous but it's necessary to protect my peace, care and nourish myself.

Much needed, revisiting many works to find #Peace through #Buddhism #ThichNhatHanh
