I'm so good at buying stuff for my #homelab and so bad at actually placing that in service. The list of stuff in waiting:

1. Backup #NAS box - waiting for OMV installation and disk transplantation from old #Synology
2. #tplink AX5400 access point - waiting for VLAN configuration on switch
3. Two small #bitcoin miners - waiting for VLAN-based VPN routing
4. New 2 TB NVME drive for my primary PC - waiting for a solid idea on how to move #Fedora from current 1 TB drive without re-installation

Thousands of #TPLink routers have been infected by a #botnet to spread #malware
According to Cato CTRL team, #Ballista botnet exploits a remote code execution vulnerability that directly impacts TP-Link Archer AX-21 router. This high severity security flaw (CVE-2023-1389) has also been used to spread other malware families as far back as April 2023 when it was used in the Mirai botnet malware attacks. The flaw also linked to the Condi and AndroxGh0st malware attacks.

report from the Cato CTRL team, the #Ballista botnet #exploits a remote code execution vulnerability that directly impacts the TP-Link Archer AX-21 router.

The botnet can lead to command injection which then makes remote code execution (RCE) possible so that the #malware can spread itself across the internet automatically. has also been used to spread other #malware families

I’m a sucker for a good deal. Also, I don’t like the idea of someone on my network that I haven’t authorized.

With all the #TPLink ban-talk, I found a set of older , but capable #eero routers.

I think this might be the first Amazon hardware product I like? (Insert existential crisis here)

Anyone have any info on the security of one versus the other?

Okay, #ethernet peeps:: If I have a #POE++ adapter, and I add IN FRONT OF my switch (#TPLink TL-SG108-M2), will it pass through the POE++ power to each port on that switch?

I was hoping I could simply put poe++ power INTO the #switch instead of between the ETH port on the switch and the wifi base station I'm trying to power.

Also, the POE++ power adapter can provide far more power than the base station requires, so it would be nice to utilize that on other devices.
