I have an iPhone 13 with the Lightning connector for now. When I plug it into the front of my Mac mini with a cable purchased from AT&T, the phone says it’s slow charging.

Might this be a non-MFi cable? Or do the front USB-C connections only support limited power output?

I’m planning on getting an iPhone 17 Pro when it comes out, and am trying to prepare as best as possible.

Upgrading my second spare laptop from #Debian12 to #Debian13. So far I've done the media player in my office, my wife's desktop and three #Macmini systems for IT class. The old laptops were obsolete 6 years ago, but I still upgrade them in case I need them - and I do them first to check that things work.

At the weekend I'll do my desktop and laptop, and possibly one of the virtual servers.

I'll do my main servers later, & my wife's laptops last as she is the most likely to complain.

Well my #DHCP problem is even more perplexing.

One #macmini running #Debian13 connects okay, but the other two get as far as asking for the WiFi password from the #RPi4 but never ask for an IP address as far as I can see from the #dnsmaq logs.

The Mac have different Wifi devices, but the two that won't connect to the Pi will connect to my household WiFi. All Macs running the same version of Debian.

Stumped for the moment!

I have an old #MacMini from circa 2010, but I can't think of anything to do with it.

It doesn't have any USB3 ports and only one Ethernet port, so I can't use it as a router. Its DVD drive doesn't work (probably just dusty, but I don't know how to open it up and clean it), so I can't use it as a DVD player.

What do people do with old #Mac Minis these days?

Is it perhaps possible to run modern macOS in an emulator on it?

@brynet Thanks for keeping me updated on these topics! I don't tend to read more than the ports@ list and a couple specific threads on tech@.

I _still_ haven't really gotten far in testing #OpenBSD/arm64 much other than a few #QEMU tests on my #MacMini and #iPadPro. If (when?) I can ever upgrade my #M1 Mac mini, I'll try it natively, but I'm still exited to see progress on more of the newer ARM desktop/notebook/tablet class processors/hardware.
