Coming now to the second province in #Pakistan affected by the rains. Uptil 1st Aug 2024, 24 people had died and hundreds of families made homeless by the rains.

"Pakistan usually receives 255mm of rain each month", #Lahore received 356mm in THREE HOURS. Don't have data on rain in #KP though.

Der Aufstieg Wechats fiel zusammen mit dem Niedergang des Konkurrenten Weibo - Chinas Twitter-Kopie - als Medium der gesellschaftlichen Debatte: Parteichef Xi Jinping hatte nach seinem Amtsantritt 2012 das allzu frei agierende Weibo mit verschärfter Zensur, Strafen und Verhaftungen ins Visier genommen, und so wechselten bald viele politisch interessierte Weibo-Nutzer zu Wechat. Aber während Weibo wie Twitter auch ein Megafon war, mit dem man auf einen Schlag Hunderttausende oder gar Millionen erreichen konnte, ist Wechat im Kern etwas anders: Bei Wechat schließen sich die Leute zu kleinen Freundesgruppen zusammen - bis heute sind nicht mehr als 500 Leute erlaubt in einer Gruppe.
