In his post-game press conference last night, Portland head coach Chauncey Billups, when asked about the team's loss to Boston, remarked that the Celtics are a championship team. Everyone gets to their spots, and will physically move you out of the way to get there. That's something he emphasized. He also mentioned lofting the ball higher in some passing situations, but his focus was on their physicality.

He spoke about how Boston is built with shooters, and how they move the ball (and bodies) to get their shots. Their bench is deep. Everyone knows their roles. They cover well for each other when starters get injured or in foul trouble.

In the end, Boston hit 4 more 3's. That's 12 points. They won by 12.

The Blazers are becoming a gritty, defensive-oriented team. With a bit more maturity, this team should be beastly. They fell a bit short against a superior team.

Dan Marang commented that if all he saw was the Blazers' box score, he'd assume they had won the game by about 9 points.

Boston is elite. The playoffs will be fun. The Blazers will give most teams trouble, should they reach the play-in. I wouldn't count the Celtics among them, just yet.
