Bei Spiegel Online gibt es heute einen Artikel darüber, ob die Serie #Adolescence für Kinder bzw. Schulstunden geeignet ist.

Ich kenne weder die Serie noch den Artikel, aber muss spontan daran denken, dass ich mehreren Dozentinnen aus meinem Studium bis heute dankbar bin, dass sie bestimmte "Filmchen" in Referaten (z. B. über Terror) unterbunden haben. Ich bin erwachsen und kann sehr vieles trotzdem nicht anschauen. Gar nicht. Und ich finde es krass, was man Kindern ggf. zumuten will zu sehen?!

For any of my #American friend's here who liked #Adolescence, I would like to recommend the movie 'This is England' (2006), and it's spin-off TV show.

The original British skinhead movement were whites rejecting long haired hippies, and instead integrating black music and culture into theirs. But. In the early 80's, Nazism corrupted skinhead youth and took it over....

This movie is a drama about a very young teen coming into skinhead culture at this time, and is conflicted by the two opposing views.

One of the main characters, a Nazi skinhead, is played by Stephen Graham, who also plays the dad in Adolesence - which an American audience might also recognise as playing Al Copone on HBO's Boardwalk Empire.

If you like 'This is England', then also consider the movie 'Dead Man's Shoes' by the same writer / director.

J’ai enfin vu Adolescence et sa réputation n’était pas usurpée : c’est une excellente série à découvrir sur Netflix. Le dispositif basé sur des plans séquences est incroyable, l’histoire passionnante, c’est très bien joué, bref, c’est une vraie réussite à ne pas rater.

Les quatre épisodes d’environ une heure sont tous des plans-séquence sans aucune triche. Chaque épisode a été tourné d’un bout à l’autre, sans coupe cachée dans un mur ou un autre obstacle comme on en voit parfois. On suit l’action en temps réel sans pouvoir y couper et s’il y a évidemment un côté démonstratif, c’est aussi une excellente manière de créer une tension et d’impliquer le spectateur. On a l’impression d’assister à une véritable scène en direct, bien plus qu’avec une narration traditionnelle, avec un sentiment d’urgence assez oppressant, en particulier dans le troisième épisode qui se résume presque à une seule scène entre deux personnages. C’est très fort et il faut bien reconnaître que cette prouesse technique est une véritable réussite qui mérite d’être saluée. D’autant qu’ils n’ont jamais triché et qu’il a fallu plusieurs prises pour parvenir jusqu’au bout de chaque épisode, ce qui ressemble à un vrai cauchemar pour tout le monde. C’est encore plus bluffant quand on pense que l’acteur qui incarne Jamie, Owen Cooper, n’avait jamais tourné avant cette série ! Je savais avant de regarder la création de Netflix que ça allait être le cas et pour être honnête, je pensais initialement que ce serait un peu gadget. J’avais tort, ce choix apporte un réel bénéfice, en forçant la série à rester ancrée sur quatre moments très intenses, ce qui lui apporte un vrai plus.

Personally though I think it was unhelpful in thinking about the challenges of parenting.

But do persists with the parental controls - they are harder to use than they should be - and not nearly as effective as you'd like.

But 100% worth using

I also just don't allow my son that much privacy online - insist that I have his passwords and talk about why

It won't be forever - but for now I feel I have to be present in his online life.

We just finished watching #Adolescence during lunch break.
We had to search for the meaning of "nonse" and what is black pudding. Sometimes I miss the explanatory subtitles I find in Viki #kdrama shows and I wish every cultural specific #series would have that.

Anyway it's a great show. It scares the hell out of me, as a mom of two boys, one of whom will enter middle school in September 😭
And that parent struggle is perfectly portrayed. My son's first phone will have tons of parental control.
