#DerDara von #derlinken berichtet über den #Artikel des #britischen #Telegraph "#Russia could be behind #migrant #terrorattacks, #German investigators fear.
The #goal, security sources say, is to #increase support for #farRight, #proKremlin #AfD." (leider hinter einer Paywall)

Vielen ist sicher aufgefallen, dass jetzt nach der #Bundestagswahl die #Serie von #Terroranschlägen wie abgerissen ist, obwohl wir sonst vielleicht alle 2-3 Jahre 1 Anschlag zu verzeichnen hatten.

Der #NoAfD hat das eine #Sperrminorität eingebracht und das Sie kaum noch aus Gremien heraus zu halten ist. Auch ich meine: Zufall? Eher nicht!

Škoda Group will deliver 46 trolleybuses to #Esslingen, #Germany, as part of a €41.4 million contract to support the city's transition to emission-free public transport. The vehicles, which will be delivered by 2026, include 12-metre and 18-metre models, with an option for 15 more. Equipped with batteries for up to 25 km of #autonomous operation and regenerative braking, the #trolleybuses will feature enhanced passenger comfort, including comfortable seating, electric ramps, and onboard Wi-Fi. The new fleet will help Esslingen achieve its goal of climate neutrality by 2040, making it one of the first #German cities with fully emission-free local #transport. Škoda’s role in Germany’s emission-free #mobility market continues to grow, with projects like the world’s longest tram for Rhein-Neckar-Verkehr GmbH.

I have more German -writing people in my TL now.
Even as followers : Danke schön !

Interesting for sure.
But:
German reading and speaking is not really a problem, while not really perfect either.
Writing is not good.
English and my own Dutch, sometimes ¨Double" , are better.
( Shame on me, because our Mom was from Osnabruck ).

20 Lessons from the 20th Century About How to Defend #Democracy from #Authoritarianism, According to Yale #Historian #TimothySnyder

in History | January 20th, 2017

"Timothy Snyder, Housum Professor of History at Yale University, is one of the foremost scholars in the U.S. and Europe on the rise and fall of #totalitarianism during the 1930s and 40s. Among his long list of appointments and publications, he has won multiple awards for his recent international bestsellers '#Bloodlands: Europe between #Hitler and #Stalin' and last year’s 'Black Earth: The #Holocaust as History and Warning.' That book in part makes the argument that #Nazism wasn’t only a #German #nationalist movement but had global #colonialist origins—in #Russia, #Africa, and in the #UnitedStates, the nation that pioneered so many methods of human extermination, #racist #dehumanization, and ideologically-justified #LandGrabs.

"The hyper-#capitalism portrayed in the U.S.—even during the Depression—Snyder writes, fueled Hitler’s imagination, such that he promised Germans 'a life comparable to that of the American people,' whose 'racially pure and uncorrupted' German population he described as 'world class.' Snyder describes Hitler’s ideology as a myth of racialist struggle in which 'there are really no values in the world except for the stark reality that we are born in order to take things from other people.' Or as we often hear these days, that acting in accordance with this principle is the 'smart' thing to do. Like many far right figures before and after, Hitler aimed to restore a state of nature that for him was a perpetual state of race war for imperial dominance."
