Who doesn't love to splash in a puddle on a hot and dusty day? #BikeLaneSweeper #pdxTST
I'm trying to shred some branches and the rain keeps getting heavier every time I get the tools out, in what looked like a dry moment #pdxTST
#CanYouSeeMtHoodFromBurlingameFMpickupSpot4 at 2:05pm on April 1st?
Yes.
Haha no. Still, it didn't rain until I got home. #leaveTheCarAtHome #pdxTST #pdxBikes #cargoBikes #eBikes #BikeTooter #spring #Portland #toiletPaper
Two crashes of thunder on the afternoon walk with the dogs. Just a little bit of rain. Just south of Milwaukie.
Thunder in NE PDX just now #pdxtst
Thunder and lightning! #pdxtst
PBOT [probably]: "why would we sweep when it's going to rain?"
me: "it's going to rain, I better go sweep" #BikeLaneSweeper #pdxBikes #pdxTST

Well, we are finally getting that intense #hail storm that was promised last week!
#pdxtst high winds, rain, and hail here in SW PDX!
New article: Lightning causes damage in Washington but severe weather notably absent
- Review of yesterday's t-storm event
- Why Portland had barely anything and how this cascaded to weaken storm risk
- Discussion of the hype train
18:00 Wednesday - Not an all-clear for Portland but it looks like the cap hasn’t burst, limiting upward motion and thus thunderstorm development. Risk for that area is declining with time.
Risk remains for the South Sound region.
Am I imagining things (likely) or did the weather that's moving in just make my ears pop? #pdxtst

You can see all the big trends clearly before they happen, and then still be surprised by all the completely unanticipated little details of the future.
For example, I absolutely did not expect us to respond to #ClimateChange and #ExtremeWeather events by wrapping our brand new cars in cardboard before the tornados and 2" hailstones arrive.
Reminder for Oregonians on lightning. Do not shelter under trees or other wood only structures that do not have lightning rods. Go into a wide open area and find the lowest part like a ditch and lay in that. Do not be the tallest thing around or be by one that conducts electricity. If you are in a vehicle stay in the vehicle. It will protect you from a strike. If you get a tornado warning go into the bathroom and shelter in the tub with a mattress you can pull over you or heavy blankets. #pdxtst
