#WordWeavers Apr 26. Does your MC have good or bad luck?
Bad. Very bad. I mean, it's not a "luck" oriented story, but in terms of bad things happening to her for no especially good reason: bad luck.

#PennedPossibilities 654 — How would your SC introduce themselves?
[Looks up from book.] "Oh. Uh, hi." [looks back down at book]
#PennedPossibilities 653 — MC POV: Your best friend comes over at 3 am to go on an adventure. Where are you (both) going?
"Away from here."
#Wordweavers Apr 25: How long does it typically take you to draft a novel?
I'll let you know.
Friday, Mastodonians! Coffee shop morning!
At my favourite, having brekkie and contemplating a weekend of friends and family.
Hope everyone's day is this good or better, except the fascists whom I wish get the kind of syphilis that makes your nose fall off.
#WordWeavers Apr 24: Would your MC rather lose their sight or hearing?
Hearing. They're telepathic. :)
#PennedPossibilities 652 Do you ever use cliffhangers at narrative breaks and/or chapter endings?
I tend to avoid them. I think they're a bit cliche. I mean, they can be done to good effect, but I prefer closing a scene, in and of itself, so that ideally it sets up the next scene. It's great when it works.
Thursday, Mastodonians, and I have nothing. Absolutely nothing. Which can only mean one thing:
TIME TO POST CUTE ANIMAL PICS!
JOIN ME AND WE WILL RULE THE INTERNET!!!
#WordWeavers Apr 23: Do you plan your themes or do they arise from your writing and then get tweaked in edits?
They come from the story. I don't think I could plan a theme without it feeling artificial.
#WordWeavers Apr 22 Would your story work in a vastly different setting?
It could be done as a fantasy piece, remote lands for planets, magic instead of cosmic powers. It would very quickly be a very different story, though.
Tuesday, Mastodonians! The day where we say . . . Tuesday!
Got a whack to do, including the cleaning that didn't get finished yesterday, and formatting paperbacks which is so much more finicky than it looks!
To the word mines!
#WordWeavers Apr 21: Is there anything that bores you about any of your characters?
No. If I'm bored of something, it won't sustain my interest, and I won't write about it. I'm not getting paid for it, so I pursue my own enjoyment, TYVM.
A Father-in-Law and a Serene, Deceitful Toymaker try to make it through the terror-filled night in an isolated cabin. Can you write a story about this? #fantasy #amwritingfantasy
Sunday, Mastodonians. Happy Easter to all who celebrate.
Going to be a quiet one here. Just settling in with a second cup of coffee to write some words.
I hope your Sunday is peaceful, except the fascists, who I hope have ticks, fleas, crabs and lice.
#WordWeavers Apr 20. If someone gave you a million dollars (or equivalent) to never write again, would you take it?
A million's not enough. It would have to be a set-for-life, send-the-kids-to-university, never-worry-about-money-again kind of figure to convince me to never write.
Also, I do not trust myself. I'd have to give it back within a month. At best.
#ScribesAndMakers Apr 19. Would you like to hang out with your favourite creator or do you think it's better to appreciate the work but keep a distance?
Oh god. She's so busy. She doesn't have time to "hang out" with me! I'd feel like I was keeping her from her books or her kid.
Nah, I'm good where I am.
#WordWeavers Apr 19 Have you ever learned something about yourself from your characters?
Constantly, especially with this project because it's about a group of teenagers in a horrific situation, and all of them have bits of my personality sprinkled throughout. It's been one revelation after another. I hope that makes it a good book to read, too, but we'll see!
#WritersCoffeeClub Apr 18 Do you write under a pen name? Multiple? How did you choose?
Nope. A) My name is already awesome. B) If I get famous, then *I* want to be famous.
#WordWeavers Apr 18: What would it take for your MC to become violent?
Literally just listening to the voices in her head. :)
