HEY #SEATTLE
The old Bus Tunnel station rail lines need serious work and are gonna be semi-closed for like TEN DAYS IN APRIL, which sounds like a spy novel but is mostly just a pain in the ass:

April 14 to April 23, they'll be letting like two trains an hour go through between stations and that's it. Outside the work zone will be normal.
Put it in your calendars!
Some pix from one of the 13 rolls I dropped off at Foto Express in San Jose this week. Taken on a recent work trip to #Seattle. using a #KodakBrownie #boxcamera

Relating to my previous rant about Sound Transit's broken trip planner, here's a PSA for anyone from out of town, trying to get around Seattle: DON'T USE SOUND TRANSIT'S TRIP PLANNER. USE THE KING COUNTY METRO TRIP PLANNER, WHICH ACTUALLY WORKS.

Sigh, public engagement portals are often so bad. I was pointed at this one for #SoundTransit (about a segment in #Seattle) -- https://www.crossingsafetyst.org/. The first page has a "Let's Go" button which I click. It loads this page. I couldn't figure out how to continue to where I give comment. Turns out there is a tiny right arrow at the bottom that I could click but I didn't notice it because it just seemed like visual noise. I had to turn on VoiceOver to "find" it. At least that worked?
The rest of the party went on to dine in the U District, with plans to eventually make it all the way up north to the Lynnwood #LightRail stop for further shenanigans, but this is where I departed to begin the journey south. Caught the 1 Line at the UW, then caught an express #bus at SeaTac airport.
I, an unwashed Pierce County rube, had the farthest to travel but that was no hardship thanks to #SoundTransit express #bus service to downtown #Seattle. I disembarked at King Street and walked about fifteen minutes through Pioneer Square to make it to the rendezvous point.
“Epic” got tossed around indiscriminately for so long I fear it’s lost all meaning, but I can think of no better word to describe today’s #Seattle adventure, instigated by my most indefatigable transit maniac friend Andrew. He gathered a group of like-minded enthusiasts to celebrate the opening of King County Metro’s #RapidRide G Line, and it ruled.
In just a few weeks I'll be sitting on this train, whizzing past all of that traffic. #transit #Seattle #Lynnwood #SoundTransit #lightrail #Link
Had some fun exploring and problem-solving with friend & co-conspirator Nick while route-testing for a future group ride that will celebrate the opening of the Lynnwood Extension of the light rail at the end of August. Stay tuned for an announcement once I submit the ride and get it approved!
