The night, so close to the fairly busy road, was not as restful as we had needed after the exhausting days spent crossing the pampa. Unfortunately, the wind had not changed direction and instead grew stronger throughout the morning. When we finally managed to cycle the 40 km and reached the village of Monte Comán, a full-on sandstorm hit us. We first took refuge in the nearest gas station café to rest a bit and wait for the storm to pass.
However, as conditions didn't improve, we decided to stay in the village and went out to search for a wind-protected place to sleep.
In a well-maintained park dedicated to the saint San Expeditio, we found some shelter from the wind. The gardener allowed us to camp there, saying it was a place for travelers. What a lovely attitude!
The next morning, the sky was blue again, and we were able to bike the final stretch to the wine city of San Rafael.
After 12 nights in the tent and one night on the train, it was finally time to take a proper shower, do laundry, and just relax for a few days.
