Slow TV - The Great Moose Migration (the link to the Swedish Public Service channel contains timestamps to the first moose crossing the river and some Aurora Borealis)

“Millions tune in for three-week live stream of Sweden’s moose migration.

Most of the time, nothing much happens. A wide Nordic river, melting snow still lining its banks, meanders peacefully through a pristine forest of spruce and pine. But this spring, as every spring for the past six years, a lot of people will be glued to it.

When Den stora älgvandringen – variously translated as The Great Moose Migration or The Great Elk Trek – first aired on the public broadcaster SVT’s on-demand platform in 2019, nearly a million people tuned in. Last year, it was 9 million.”

Den stora älgvandringen is upon us again.

Yes, that's what's playing on my TV right now!

I watched some of it last year, but it was suboptimal.

For one thing, I don't recall being able to install the SVT app, so streaming it was iffy. This year, I've got the app installed, and I'm in business.

My boyfriend is coming to my place today. He's going to discover the joy of watching Swedish moose fall through the ice.

You, too, can watch it by going here:

SVT PlayDen stora älgvandringenI flera tusen år har älgarna vandrat samma leder för att komma till sommarens rika betesmarker. Sändningsstart 22 april. For several thousand years the moose have walked the same path to get to the rich pastures of summer. Follow the walk live from Kullberg in the north of Sweden. The livestream starts April 22nd.

One of the first moose I took with a digital camera.

This was early spring, during which it would be unlikely to not see a moose or more along the highway that runs through the south of Algonquin Park. The moose are attracted to the salty water in the ditches that are remnants of the snowy winter roads, which get treated with salt.

Bob the Moose wishes you all a happy #TransDayOfVisibility. Let's all take the time to spread awareness of the discrimination the trans community faces every day, and try to spread a little positivity.

Everyone is valid, and you're all really cool people :)

From, a cis friend who will fight alongside you till death (and Bob the Moose, who will do his best, but he his only a bobblehead)
