Earlier in morning, when I was headed to Welland Community Orchard for day 1 of the Winter fruit tree pruning apprenticeship program, funded by #LifeCyclesFruitTreeProject #nonprofit organization. I'm big into #FoodSecurity & learning as much practical education related to that subject, year round.

*I hate my immediate dentures & am getting better fitted ones this Spring.*

Come to meet me & Julia (seen here), during #YYJ #GoByBike week, at #UVic on October 2nd. We're manning a #LifeCyclesFruitTreeProject info booth, free juice sampling station & giving away discount codes for our new orchard blend juice products. We'll be at UVic that day, from 9:30am - 12:45pm. Look for our banner, our logo marked van & me in an emerald green ballgown.

At all of our #FruitTrees assessments, we have to take some specific reference photos, to make things easier for our volunteer fruit picker teams. Full photo of tree & area it's located in yards. Photo of fruit cut in half - to help us determine when they're ready to be picked. Photo of fruits on tree. Photo of access to yard/fruit trees. I took several reference photos during our morning field training trip.

Just got back from fruit sorting with some of the #LifeCyclesFruitTreeProject Friday morning team. There's different people doing ongoing fruits sorting every week, during harvest season. This fruit trees project is an important part of local #FoodSecurity. Fruits are distributed throughout the community & many go to other nonprofits, like the #MustardSeedFoodBank.

Learn more & get involved with helping with local food security. There's several different ways to become actively involved. I'm on the fruit trees assessors & fruit sorting teams.
