Today there was the #Amsterdam Canal Parade, the official 'highlight' of the Amsterdam #Pride. Despite being a special day for a lot of LGBTQIA+ people, it is especially a highlight for capitalist and genocidal corporations. Main sponsor: Booking.com. We all hopefully know by now the level of complicity of Booking.com. Therefore a group of swimming heroes entered the canal to protest against Booking.com. It even made it to the national news!

ACHTUNG: Echt fieses #Phishing über booking.com!

Gerade geht eine ziemlich böse Masche um: Man wird von seinem Hotel, bei dem man gebucht hat über die Booking.com Webseite angeschrieben, dass die Karte noch verifiziert werden muss oder ähnliches.
Es kommt also offenbar wirklich eine Mail vom Hotel über die bisher genutzten Wege. Die E-Mail dazu kommt dadurch dann als booking.com E-Mail

Ich habe vorhin so eine bekommen. In meinem Fall war das besonders böse, weil ich mein Hotel erst bei Ankunft zahlen sollte, nun aber scheinbar die Info von Booking.com bekam, dass die die Reservierung noch einmal mit Karte bestätigen soll. Das passte also auch noch ziemlich gut zusammen.

Ich habe das fast gemacht. Meine Bank sichert Kreditkarten Zahlungen mit 2Pass ab, somit wurde ich stutzig, dass die Zahlung weder an booking.com noch deutlich an das Hotel ging. Ich brach das also ab.

Aber meine CC Karten Daten werden dann jetzt wohl in einer entsprechenden DB sein. 🙄

Passt also auf: Das ist schon eine ziemlich krasse, recht schwer zu erkennende Phishing Technik. Eigentlich kann das nur funktionieren, wenn die Hotel Buchungssoftware kompromittiert ist, sonst kann der Angreifer ja nicht über das booking.com Nachrichten System schreiben..

Ich werde wohl dann jetzt mal sicherheitshalber die Kreditkarte austauschen.

I'm as sure as I can be that I've had a phishing attempt from two hotels that I've booked for my Slovakia trip in September.
Both hotels are in the same group. Identical emails but also identical messages within the booking.com messaging system.
They want me to reconfirm my credit card details - hmmmm!

I've emailed the hotels directly and also messaged booking.com

Maybe this is yet another argument for booking direct with the hotels rather than using a booking agent.
