marqle<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/@LRBristol" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>LRBristol</span></a></span> </p><p>This might be controversial, but <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/RobertJenrick" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RobertJenrick</span></a> had a perfect right to say what he said because xenophobia isn't illegal as far as I know.</p><p>But The <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/BBC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BBC</span></a> presenter had a perfect right to call him <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/xenophobic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>xenophobic</span></a> because that's exactly what the word means, fear of foreigners or outsiders.</p><p>There was nothing to apologise for.</p><p>Now <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/Jenrick" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jenrick</span></a> is out to score political points and he's using people in a weaker position to do that.</p><p>So it's also fair to say Jenrick is a nasty selfish manipulator. In short he's a first class wanker.</p><p>But that's just my personal <a href="https://mastodonapp.uk/tags/opinion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>opinion</span></a>.</p>
