Py3DEP [hydroclimate analysis]

“Py3DEP is a part of [PyGeoUtils] HyRiver software stack that is designed to aid in hydroclimate analysis through web services. This package provides access to the 3DEP database which is a part of the National Map services. The 3DEP service has multi-resolution sources and depending on the user-provided resolution, the data is resampled on the server-side based on all the available data sources. Py3DEP returns the requests as xarray dataset…”

I was just reading, I think a week or so ago, about a static website system with integrated #ActivityPub features, using #Hugo. But now I lost the link.

The big benefit is actually running a static site - everything works and it is so fast.

It requires thinking through your dynamic content. Which is still generally easy using #selfhosted #webservices, so your site is not waiting/costing you subscription fees.

@mastar2323 Because #Scheme is the most minimized of the practical Lisps.

It’s hygienic macros make mistakes much less likely and most of its design choices are sound (in my opinion after using it for 10 years in my hobby projects).

And there are many implementations, suitable for different domains (from #microcontrollers to #webservices).

#Guile however is just a personal preference. Here’s a breakdown of implementations depending on what you’re interested in doing: wingolog.org/archives/2013/01/

I write #software for indeed.com (job search site) (previously employed by Amazon). I've written a lot of #database-backed #webservices in #Java, but in the last few years, I've been working on #microfrontend platforms in #JavaScript & #TypeScript, primarily supporting #React. I have more knowledge about #Webpack #ModuleFederation than anyone should be cursed with. I'd love to try #SolidJS, #RustLang seems really cool, and I'm excited about the future of #WebAssembly.

I am a network nerd (#NetworkEngineer) focused heavily on #BGP #routing, #DNS #Anycast, and modern #WebServices. I'm very interested in #InfoSec as it is directly adjacent to, and often intertwined with the network layer.

I run my own #HobbyASN, operating AS395089 on the public internet using mainly #Mikrotik routers and switches. I #blog about my experiences at bgp.guru/

I love in #Winnipeg #Canada, and am involved in the local #InternetExchange / #IXP community, sitting both on the board of directors for MBIX, as well as participating in the MBIX Ops Team.

Outside of the Internet, I am also quite interested in #RetroGaming, focusing heavily on the #SNES era.
