What they don't tell you about total solar eclipses is the sky darkens right over you, and at the horizon you see a sunrise/sunset effect...only it's in every direction. Truly breathtaking. My capture of a particularly sublime one on April 8, 2024: "Ultimate Shadow".

One year ago today I watched the #SolarEclipse in Arkansas. The two total eclipses I've seen have been magnificent to a level that is difficult to describe to those who haven't seen totality.

Unknown, not sure entirely real.
My mother told me she did not have these black clouds on Saturday with the #solareclipse.
To be clear, this is a thick woolly fluffy happy white cloud 
, which turns dark with backlight and the camera settings to reduce the massive amount of light.
If you would have looked at the sun, which I did not 
, it would have been a blinding light.

Well, here's the result.
It's... servicable. This was at 12:22 using a 200mm (plus further cropping) focal length, sun filter foil, f/32, 1/30s handheld reaching beyond the railing of my balcony, so I think it is fine.
Less clouds would have been helpful. Anyway, it was fun, and I did also catch the peak around 12:15, just with my eyes and appropriate protection.
