uhurudespite having added "export QT_QPA_PLATFORM="wayland;xcb"" in <a href="https://snac.el-hoyo.net/social?t=labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#labwc</a> environment file, <a href="https://snac.el-hoyo.net/social?t=keepassxc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#keepassxc</a> still doesn't open.. needs to be run like :<br><code>QT_QPA_PLATFORM=wayland keepassxc</code><br><br>annoyance.<br>
Justine SmithiesStill playing around with <a href="https://snac.smithies.me.uk?t=labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Labwc</a> and although it's a <a href="https://snac.smithies.me.uk?t=wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Wayland</a> stacking window manager that can tile aka snap to edge it can also be totally configured to work with just the keyboard. I'm pretty impressed so far with what can be achieved. If you liked <a href="https://snac.smithies.me.uk?t=openbox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#OpenBox</a> then definitely give this a shot as you'll love it.<br>
KaiXinAgreed. I mean, most of <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Wayland</a> compositors seem to be tilling <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=wm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WM</a> based, which I am always afraid to even try out because I am so spoiled by stacking windows. But <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#labwc</a> makes me at home even I am trying out something totally new.<br>
KaiXin<a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#labwc</a> is probably the most user-friendly <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=wayalnd" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#wayalnd</a> <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=wm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#WM</a> out there. <a href="https://snac.bsd.cafe?t=debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Debian</a> makes it even easier.<br>
uhuru<a href="https://snac.el-hoyo.net/social?t=wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Wayland</a> adventures on <a href="https://snac.el-hoyo.net/social?t=debian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Debian</a> sid (actually <a href="https://snac.el-hoyo.net/social?t=devuan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Devuan</a> ceres).<br>on wl-roots based compositor <a href="https://snac.el-hoyo.net/social?t=labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#labwc</a> .<br>
𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘬<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@LXQt" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>LXQt</span></a></span> <span class="h-card"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@whynothugo" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>whynothugo</span></a></span> Mmmh, so this is why wl-mirror doesn’t work, right? It only shows as super small square and does not update.</p><p>So the problem really is <a href="https://gts.0x7be.net/tags/labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>labwc</span></a> here? Too bad, since it’s the only really good and customizable floating WM with not too many dependencies.</p>
𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘬<p><span class="h-card"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@whynothugo" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>whynothugo</span></a></span> I searched for various solutions to create a “fake output” on <a href="https://gts.0x7be.net/tags/labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>labwc</span></a>. It seems to be impossible here. So I guess I have to wait … Maybe some trickery with a nested instance … oh well 🫣</p>
𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘬<p>Still no individual window capture in <a href="https://gts.0x7be.net/tags/obs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OBS</span></a> :obs: under <a href="https://gts.0x7be.net/tags/wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wayland</span></a> :wayland: on <a href="https://gts.0x7be.net/tags/labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Labwc</span></a> :labwc:, right? Full screen recording works perfectly fine.</p>
Wilko<p>I tried <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/labwc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>labwc</span></a> as a compositor on my <a href="https://social.tchncs.de/tags/mntpocketreform" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mntpocketreform</span></a> with a config that:</p><p>- disables window decoration<br>- forces applications to be maximized at all times<br>- autostarts emacs</p><p>and so far I'm happy with it. I can alt-tab through all open applications, use the emacs modeline as a bar replacement (for time, battery status even though the logic's in emacs is broken for the pocket reform somehow?) and launch new applications with fuzzel. It's minimal and quite beautiful.</p>
