Asta [AMP]
So WhatsApp is owned by Meta, as we all know. Anyone familiar with #encryption and #encryptedMessaging: are there any known technical details of the algorithms used in WhatsApp that would be a "tell" if Meta changed the underlying software such that they could read the messages?

I know it's not open source, but I'm just trying to assess my risk about having WhatsApp installed and using it to talk to some people I know (who are not in the US but in the EU). It's known that Zuckerberg is neutral evil and is happy to use the law when it suits him and subvert it when not, so I'm not talking from a GDPR perspective.
