Dasyscolia ciliata on Sage-leaved Rock-Rose (Cistus salviifolius)
We went to Rutland Water for a day out on Sunday. It's a beautiful nature reserve on one side of a reservoir, managed by Leicestershire Wildlife Trust.
We saw a pair of ospreys, a few red kites, lots of ducks and geese. Also an otter! But it was too quick to get a photo.

A Dragonfly Covered in Morning Dew
Dragonflies are expert fliers, capable of hovering, gliding, and even flying backward
Their movement slows down during the early morning due to the cool temperatures and moisture.
Fun fact: Dragonflies have nearly 360-degree vision thanks to their massive compound eyes, which contain about 30,000 tiny lenses
