Aurore 'Alpy'<p>Hello to the fediverse and to this lovely server. New account so new <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a></p><p>I am Alpy, a french queer developer. I might be a bit neurodivergent. I'm studying computer science and I'm in the middle of an internship as a software developer. I'm a huge linux nerd and I'm really interested by FLOSS.</p><p>At work I have the opportunity to be able to work on many different projects, with a lot of differents tools, languages and softwares. I really like it, as it allows me to discover and learn constantly.<br>(downside of this is that occasionnally i must interact with java.)</p><p>At night I do a variety of things, but usually I'm either coding, playing games, or watching anime.<br>My language of choice for the coding I do for fun is C. And the most common type of projects I do can be summed up as "Let's reinvent the wheel".<br>About two years ago I had to create a small shell. I'm really proud of it honestly, but the code quality is concerning. (To be fair it was two years ago, and I'm still a student).</p><p>A while ago I had started to work on a HTTP webserver called 'Owl', I unfortunately kinda forgot about it.</p><p>Then I started to work on a OpenGL game engine called 'Orion', unfortunately again, I lost motivation to work on it.</p><p>Anyway, right now my current project is a HTTP webserver framework called 'salsa', and honestly progress is going a lot smoother than on my previous attempt.<br>The repo got a few commits, and the basis of the network part is mostly done. I kinda dread the parsing part but I may just temporarily use a library if it's too much hassle.</p><p>I really appreciate low-level development, and I'd really like to be able to continue doing that kind of stuff. One of my dream project would be to create my own kernel / OS.</p><p>Apart from C, I also know some x86-64 assembly, C++ and TS/JS.</p><p>Eventually i'd like to try to learn some Rust, Go or Haskell.</p><p>I fricking love docker, and I'd like to learn some kube one day.</p><p>I am currently playing a lot of Titanfall 2 and Breath of the Wild. And I'm watching One Piece, and Jujutsu Kaizen too.</p><p><a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/introduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>introduction</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fediverse</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/clang" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>clang</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/rust" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>rust</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/webserver" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>webserver</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/cpp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cpp</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/floss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>floss</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/queer" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>queer</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/botw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>botw</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/titanfall2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>titanfall2</span></a> <a href="https://discuss.systems/tags/onepiece" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>onepiece</span></a></p>
Allie<p>August 5, 2023 - Day 217 - NewPlay Review<br>Total NewPlays: 237</p><p>Game: Titanfall 2</p><p>Platform: Steam<br>Release Date: Oct 28, 2016<br>Library Date: Nov 25, 2022<br>Unplayed: 253d (8m11d)<br>Playtime: 78m</p><p>Titanfall 2 is a first person shooter with mechs. While it has a multiplayer mode, I was focused on trying the campaign.</p><p>Technically, this is not the first time I've played Titanfall 2. I attempted to play it via Gamepass on the Xbox a few years ago, and try as I might, I just couldn't coordinate on the controller in any way that felt playable.</p><p>It was one of those games that I'd heard people rave about, and when it came up on deep sale late last year, I took the bait.</p><p>A seven year old game, with mouse and keyboard?</p><p>Yeah, that's the good stuff. Wall-running, which is a critical part of this Titanfall 2, went from making me want to throw the controller in frustration to something fluid and fun.</p><p>The gunplay while in pilot mode is incredibly satisfying. The guns feel weighty, and the sniper rifle in particular has a wonderful heft to it; putting a sniper round into a drone is particularly enjoyable.</p><p>By the end of my 78 minutes, I'd just loaded into the mech and completed the first mission, with the mech's abilities being a lot of fun, particularly the "catch all the projectiles and return-to-sender" ability.</p><p>Titanfall 2 seems:</p><p>4: Good</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/Titanfall2" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Titanfall2</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/FirstPerson" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FirstPerson</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/FPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FPS</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Mechs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mechs</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/MastodonGaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MastodonGaming</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Gaming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gaming</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Project365ONG" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Project365ONG</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/Project365" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Project365</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/NewPlay" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NewPlay</span></a></p>
