ABY BUT IN ALLCAPS
One of my pet peeves is when sites pretend to do 2FA but don't do it properly.

I just tried to log in to my Facebook on my PC for the first time in months, so Facebook wants me to 2FA and told me to just approve the log in on my other device (my phone).

However, the notification sent to my phone just tells me that someone (me!) is trying to log into my account from an unknown browser, and doesn't give me the option to approve anything. So I click the 'ok' button, and it locks me out of Facebook on my phone and on the browser.

So, now I have to get into Facebook on my phone again, which means using my Authy app to get the 2FA code, but because I haven't used my Authy app in so long (because I just keep my Facebook signed in on my phone), I need to get my secondary passkey to authorise Authy.

Doing this means recharging my old phone, updating it, and then updating Authy.. resetting the secondary password on that phone and then using it to log into Authy on my current phone.

All of this just to tell Josh not to insult women in the local Singles group and call them scammers because they don't want to meet him for coffee.

I feel like this should be easier.

*oh, and because I have #adhd and can never remember passwords etc, I took a photo of the new secondary password and stored it on my phone in a folder called PASSWORDS - because, repeat after me:
CONFUSING SECURITY MEASURES FORCES THE REGULAR PUBLIC TO USE NON-SECURE HACKS

#tech #technology #TechSecurity #CyberSecurity
