Trying to find the right meme for when you get home late on the subway and forget there was an early subway closure.
So you end up in a shuttle bus
I hate the shuttle bus

Toronto Star feature article on the history and potential of Toronto's streetcar network.
"Toronto grew up around its streetcars. Do they fit into its future? Does Toronto have the faith — and money — to restore a transportation network that’s been on the decline for decades?"

I fail to understand why #ttc streetcars were not replaced by buses IMMEDIATELY until the #Toronto routes were cleared. It is astounding no one noticed streetcars being unable to swerve! "Smart like streetcar" is a local diss.
My conclusion is Toronto Council thinks like a streetcar: one track.
It took nearly two hours to travel what google estimated a 53 minute run today. Streetcars blocked by a bare edge of a stuck car, often many in a row. Who's great idea was this anyway?
Alright we're moving! 32 minutes later
For anyone living or working near #TorontoWaterfront or #QueensQuay, the #TTC is soliciting public feedback on dedicated bus lanes along Queen’s Quay East.
This seems like a really easy win for public transit! Plus increased transit use helps solidify the case for the #WaterfrontEastLRT
The TTC has plans to install bus-only lanes along Queens Quay East and Front Street to get buses out of traffic congestion. New bus lanes would reduce travel times by 30% and could be rolled out in May 2025 if approved - but will need your support!
Fill out the TTC’s survey before February 20 to help improve transit on the waterfront. The TTC will also be holding virtual and in-person consultations where you can voice your support for bus-only lanes.

Yesterday I saw someone reading “Parable of the Talents” by Octavia Butler on the subway.
Talking to strangers on public transit isn’t something people generally do in Toronto, but I hope she loves that book! It’s fantastic and such a topical read for the 2020s.
And if she happens to be on Mastodon, I’ll talk to her about it here.

It’s snowing so hard at the moment that 55 bus stops and a large portion of the subway are shut down because there’s too much snow and the buses and trains can’t make their way through it.
hey Torontonians — 56 #TTC stops have been temporarily removed from service because of the snowstorm:
If TTC wants to know why ridership is down, after having too many 2 minute waits turn into 20-30 minute waits, I decided that leaving a bit earlier and walking was better for both my physical and mental health.
I saved a fare, kids got in some extra exercise, played in the snow, and I do not have nearly the same amount of angst.
This could be our new routine going forward. On average, it doesn't cost us extra time as more often than not the wait evens out the 30 minute walk. (Except today I let them play in the snow)
