Varceptious<p>HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO YOU ALL! AND TO ME! HUGE WIN WITH BIRGER! Usually when first unit is outside in the yard doing anything he barks his head off, today while they&#39;re out in the yard he looks out the window at them, no barking and then disengaged and went and laid down! And earlier, he was sitting and watching kids play and run in the yard and didn&#39;t bark at them at all! These doggy socials I&#39;ve been bringing him to every other week have made a huge difference!</p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Glimmers" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Glimmers</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogObedience" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogObedience</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/BigVictories" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BigVictories</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogTraining</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Spent my morning being productive! You know, before I die from the heat today. So! I got a ton of stuff packed up that I plan on donating to help get rid of my clutter. Especially my <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Vegan" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Vegan</span></a> cookbooks because I need digital copies because of my health instead of the big heavy books. Also some old books I&#39;ve read already, some clothes I no longer wear. Took my boy out for a morning sniffari, did some scent training with him as well as some basic obedience. Got his first round of pupsicles going in the freezer, and gonna be making his topples later today. Did my physical therapy exercises and felt the burn. Birger&#39;s got a vet appointment at 11am today because I&#39;m worried he has a UTI. Now I&#39;m chilling in the AC drinking my tons of electrolytes for this already hot day.</p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/POTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>POTS</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/hEDS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>hEDS</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Spoonie" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Spoonie</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>That proud moment when, the dog commercial that comes on and has the dogs barking and whining comes on the tv; you&#39;re boy looks up at the whining and then goes back to chewing on his chew! He didn&#39;t bark! Not once! Just looked and then went back to his chew! This may not seem like a big deal, but it is for Birger! It used to be whenever he saw a dog on TV, him in a mirror, or in person he&#39;d shut down and bark. So, him acknowledging and then ignoring the dogs on the TV is a big step! He had a small adult dog play group on Saturday; he did well at his first one a couple of weeks ago. It showed his lack of understanding with playing with other dogs. He never got exposure to it as a puppy(canine influenza was killing dogs rapidly when he was a puppy). One on one he was figuring out play. He wants to, but is a little timid about it. Thankfully, I have some good +R trainers to help supervise and help Birger and I navigate this obstacle. Im so proud of him<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/PositiveReinforcement" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>PositiveReinforcement</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogTraining</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>My boy has a neurology appointment to get checked out on Tuesday. I worry he&#39;s in pain; the vet that did his xrays says there&#39;s something around his T12 and T13 vertebrae. I&#39;m worried it&#39;s early signs of IVDD; Im hoping I&#39;m wrong.</p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/BirgerTheWeen" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>BirgerTheWeen</span></a></p>

Varceptious<p>I love puppy cuddles after a long day. Long day for both of us! He had to go to the eye doctor today and get his eyes checked. We learned he has a slight defect in his retina in both eyes, very minor, the doctor told me. Nothing yo be concerned about as it may just be in his family lines. So, we&#39;re starting a daily supplement to help his eyes from processing and potentially getting into progressive retinal atrophy. </p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MiniDachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MiniDachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Dachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogsWithAJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogsWithAJob</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Went outside and played with a stick which he loved and his plushie hedgehog to celebrate this nice weather we got. So now we&#39;re relaxing on the bed with the window open so we can both rest. Always a great day with my little man by my side. He&#39;s my little hero</p><p><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MiniDachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MiniDachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Dachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogsWithAJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogsWithAJob</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Those moments you start teaching mat and settling with your boy. He layed on the mat, the cat ran by, my boy looked at the cat then back at me not moving an inch. Then the cat jumped off the counter and made a loud boom, Birger looked and then looked back at me still laying on the mat. This is a HUGE deal! He constantly barks and chases the cat on any given day; he stayed laying down on his mat and immediately looked at me for instructions! I&#39;m over the moon proud of my little man! I love getting to see him grow, learn, and mature.<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogsWithAJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogsWithAJob</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Those moments when your little man, Birger, refuses to leave the side of the tub while you shower. Mind you I was sitting, but my heart rate spiked and Birger refused to leave my side and refused to stop watching me. I got out got dressed and everything; his eyes were locked on me. He followed me into my bedroom where I promptly flopped on the bed; he then ran off to do his own thing. He amazes me more and more every day!<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/POTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>POTS</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogsWithAJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogsWithAJob</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disability" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disability</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Proud papa moment today! Birger nose booped me four time this morning while I was getting dressed. I then looked at my fitbit and my heart rate was spiking, I then sat down and he got in my lap. This is the first time he&#39;s done persistent alerting until I paid attention! Up until now it&#39;s always been one boop and if I didn&#39;t notice it he would just walk away. So this is very big news!<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogsWithAJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogsWithAJob</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/SmallTeamProud" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SmallTeamProud</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Dachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MiniDachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MiniDachshund</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Those days when you just refuse to leave the house because you just need a chill day with your <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> and to avoid people contact. Also drinking out of my fishbowl some liquid iv blackberry peach flavor, and rocking the compression socks. Sometimes you just wanna be around your dog and no one else.</p>
Varceptious<p>Got my boy his own spa day! He looks so much better. Trimmed, bathed, nails done, teeth and glands done, and even some paw balm to help his little beans. The groomer says he did very well with the whole process and was a perfect angel! I love hearing and getting to see his progress he makes every day. Bringing him in, he saw tons of dogs and didn&#39;t bark once!<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Got paid today from SSI, and it&#39;s basically already spent. Ordered my boys&#39; food, more of his training treats, some ear protection to start desensitizing him to them, and a new leash I&#39;ve been eyeballing for a while. Oh, and cat food! The rest is for his health insurance and possibly some more medical stuff for me or maybe comfy clothes. Those moments you realize most your money goes towards your <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> but that&#39;s just how it be. He deserves the best.<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disability" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disability</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogHandler" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogHandler</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MobilityAids" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MobilityAids</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Worked with Birger on his down stays and impulse control some today. He understands the stay...but he doesn&#39;t always stay in a down. He will stand up or sit but stay in the same spot without issue. It&#39;s also been a lot more quiet day today, compared to his barking he normally does. So overall, good day. Now for some <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DND" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DND</span></a> and snacks! Birger is enjoying his frozen topple of venison tonight. Can&#39;t wait to work on more tomorrow!<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disability" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disability</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Dachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MiniDachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MiniDachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/DogsWithAJob" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>DogsWithAJob</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Spent this cold day by cuddling with my little man and doing training sporadically throughout the day. We focused on his recall with a whistle instead of words. He responds better to the whistle than he does the word come. We did some doggy push-ups, a level 3 puzzle, he had a frozen topple, went for a mile walk with my husband, and the good news is, he&#39;s not scared of my rollator! He won&#39;t go under it right now, but he knows how to stay out of the way, and he tends to follow me every time I walk with it. Also we worked some on his impulse control; he redirects with a few prompts but is getting better with his redirecting reaction time. So small victories, and learning more about my boy. The Fi 3 that I got him is working beautifully! It even has a score to tell you whether or not he&#39;s had enough sleep compared to exercise. Really helps me be more aware of what he needs for exercise and rest.<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MiniDachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MiniDachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Dachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dachshund</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>Good news guys! Birgers Fi3 came in yesterday! It&#39;s all charged and he&#39;s wearing it now. It tracks his walks, has all of our polycule as owners, tracks his sleep, and his steps. It even alerted me that he left his &quot;home base&quot; and that it was with my husband! The walk tracker even shows a satellite view of the route that he and Birger walked! Defiantly going to be a good help tracking his stuff so I can manage his health closer.<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/MiniDachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>MiniDachshund</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Dachshund" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Dachshund</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>My little man decided to monitor me while I sat folding laundry. He is trained to pick up if my heart rate or blood pressure go crazy; he&#39;s such a good boy.<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/POTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>POTS</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/SmallTeamProud" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SmallTeamProud</span></a></p>
Varceptious<p>So proud of my boy! My legs got weak and I had to lay down and put my legs up a wall. Feeling like im gonna pass out so he sits with me. Completely ignores that my husband was giving him his supper because it&#39;s time for food. He refuses to leave my side even though he loves his food.<br /><a href="https://veganism.social/tags/ServiceDogInTraining" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>ServiceDogInTraining</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/SmallTeamProud" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>SmallTeamProud</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/POTS" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>POTS</span></a> <a href="https://veganism.social/tags/Disabled" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Disabled</span></a></p>
