Herr Irrtum!<p>Oh, im Heiseportal gibt es einen Artikel zu den Soundmöglichkeiten des Amiga Heimcomputers von 1985. </p><p>Prinzipiell toll; nur - stimmt vieles nicht, was da steht:</p><ul><li>Keimzelle für Tracker war klar der C64 - insbesondere, wenn man das Wort "Keimzelle" ins Feld führt. Das war vor den ersten Amiga Trackern.</li></ul><p>Und ja, das hat auch was mit Chris Hülsbeck zu tun, dem dann aber in den Mund gelegt wird, er hätte sich erst mit dem Amiga im Vergleich zum C64 so richtig kreativ entfalten können. Das sind aber 2 sehr verschiedene Paar Schuhe und mit Sicherheit sieht das Chris nicht anders: Der C64 bietet um Lichtjahre mehr Möglichkeiten, den Sound in Echtzeit zu verändern. Das merkt man an seinen C64 Tracks - da bringt Chris den Chip so richtig zum Singen. Phänomenal. Genau das wollte er auch auf dem Amiga erreichen, deswegen hat er ja seinen eigenen Tracker TFMX gebaut, der versucht, diese Möglichkeiten auch auf die statischen Samples des Amiga anzuwenden, und der damit weiter kommt, als normale MOD Tracker (weswegen man Amiga Hülsbeck Musik möglichst nicht per nachträglich ins Mod Format übertragene Varianten hören sollte - da fehlen akustische Feinheiten, weil sie im Mod Format nicht abgebildet werden können). Aber TFMX kommt da dennoch bei weitem nicht an den SID Soundchip des C64 ran - die Hardware erlaubt es einfach nicht.<br>Dafür kann Hülsbeck buchstäblich jeden Sound der Welt auf dem Amiga abspielen und ist nicht auf ein paar Wellenformen und verzerrte 4Bit Samples beschränkt, wie beim C64 - klar hat er sich darüber gefreut und klar sind da coole Sachen entstanden. Aber wie gesagt: Sind 2 Paar sehr verschiedene Schuhe. So verkürzt, wie im Artikel dargestellt, entsteht ein falsches Bild.</p><p>Demoszene und Crackerszene waren bis 1989 kaum separiert, die Demoszene begann sich ab 1988 so zaghaft aus der Crackerszene zu lösen. Oft mit den gleichen Leuten im Hintergrund. Insofern hatten die ersten erweiterten Versionen von Noisetracker noch nichts mit der Demoszene zu tun.</p><p>Unreal 1 für den PC hat keine Mod Files verwendet. Sondern Impulstrecker Module (.it) mit bis zu 27 Channels (der Amiga konnte nur 4). Klar das ist das gleiche Prinzip - aber tut mir leid: Modfiles und Impulstracker Musik sind unterschiedliche Dinge. </p><p>16Bit (das Club Projekt mit dem jungen Sven Väth) mögen 1987 den ein oder anderen Amigasound verwendet haben, aber das Album hat so gut wie nichts mit dem Amiga zu tun, Chances are, dass sie ihr Midi Equipment mit dem ST angesteuert haben. Also m.E. wirklich Quatsch, die Aussage.</p><p>Wie revolutionär die 8bit/28kHz in 4facher Form 1985 waren, macht der Artikel nicht klar: Die einzige nennenswerte Konkurrent war der Emu SP12 und der hatte gerade mal 48 KB Speicher für Samples. Immerhin in 12 Bit (besserer Rauschabstand) - aber das reichte dann nur für 1.2s komplette Samplelänge (für alle geladenen Samples in der Summe!) bei den maximal 26 Khz Sampling Frequenz.
