Star Citizen Wiki 🐧<p>If you're used to browse wikis, you might have spotted our <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mediawiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mediawiki</span></a> skin being used elsewhere<br><a href="https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Skin:Citizen" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="">mediawiki.org/wiki/Skin:Citizen</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>

Jürgen Hubert<p>After doing a lot of research, it seems like the <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/SemanticMediaWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SemanticMediaWiki</span></a> and <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Leaflet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Leaflet</span></a> extensions for <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Mediawiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mediawiki</span></a> might do the trick for my mapping needs.</p><p>Wish me luck installing them!</p><p><a href="https://sunkencastles.com/german-folklore-map/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">sunkencastles.com/german-folkl</span><span class="invisible">ore-map/</span></a></p>
Jürgen Hubert<p>I've been looking at assorted ways how to (a) replace my German Folklore Map with something <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/OpenStreetMap" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenStreetMap</span></a> -based (b) making it filterable based on narrative elements (such as "dragon", "treasure", and so forth), and (c) integrating it into my new <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/Mediawiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Mediawiki</span></a> wiki.</p><p>Based on my investigations so far, I _think_ my best bet is to put all the map information into a <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/GeoJSON" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GeoJSON</span></a> files, and add the element I want to filter by as Properties of the elements.</p><p>The trick seems to be which Mediawiki extensions - Map, Kartogtapher and so forth - allow me to filter these Properties so that I can create a custom map that (for example) only displays all markers tagged with "dragon" without having to create a custom GeoJSON file for each variant map.</p><p>Can anyone help me out?</p><p><a href="https://sunkencastles.com/german-folklore-map/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">sunkencastles.com/german-folkl</span><span class="invisible">ore-map/</span></a></p>

Jürgen Hubert<p>I am still planning a replacement for my Google MyMaps map of German folk tales, one based on <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/OpenStreetMap" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>OpenStreetMap</span></a> .</p><p>Reuirements include:</p><p>- I should not be required to host an entire map server.<br>- I should be able to integrate the maps into <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/MediaWiki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MediaWiki</span></a> wiki pages via plugins.</p><p>Last time I asked this question, I got a couple of good suggestions such as Umap and Leaflet that might fit the bill. However, since then I thought of a further requirement that would be _really_ useful for me:</p><p>Filterable tags for markers.</p><p>Let me explain: I want to put a bunch of markers on the map, and each refers to a folk tale. And then I want to tag some of them with "dragon", "witch", "treasure" and so forth - and then people should be able to filter them by these tags, so that only those tales that feature "dragons" or whatever on the map.</p><p>On the other hand, maybe people want to filter the tales by the book in which they first appeared, such as "Deutsche Sagen" by the Brothers Grimm. However, this means that those tags cannot be mutually exclusive - a tale might _either_ feature a dragon or be from "Deutsche Sagen", it might be both, or neither.</p><p>If there is truly no other way of doing this, I might have to do these "filters" as separate maps instead. But I _really_ don't want to do this the hard way unless I absolutely have to. So, can anyone help?</p><p><a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/map" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>map</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/maps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>maps</span></a> <a href="https://mementomori.social/tags/cartography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>cartography</span></a> <br><a href="https://sunkencastles.com/german-folklore-map/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">sunkencastles.com/german-folkl</span><span class="invisible">ore-map/</span></a></p>
