Hope ~ Reclaiming the Future


This year’s By Design and by Disaster Conference (DDCON) explores hope not as a passive wish or blind optimism, but as a collective, grounded, and empowering practice. In the face of ecological collapse, social injustice, and political crises, we ask: how can we reclaim the future through design, art, activism, and community?

From 8–10 May 2025 in South Tyrol, we’ll gather for three days of talks, workshops, shared meals, and conversations that nourish a deep sense of connection and purpose. Together, we’ll explore practices and visions that resist despair and open pathways toward solidarity, transformation, and new ways of living.

DDCon25 is an invitation to co-create real utopias—spaces of hope, care, resistance, and renewal. Let’s come together to make hope a lived and shared reality.

Un peu d'auto-promo (je ne touche pas de droits) si jamais en cette période de retrouvailles familiales, vous entendez quelqu'un parler de ses difficultés dans son enquête de terrain ou dans sa rédaction de mémoire.
J'ai eu la chance de voir mon mémoire de master publié et je n'ai pas souhaité le reprendre pour en faire un livre digeste, pour le grand public, mais j'ai voulu garder tel quel (à quelques paragraphes près) pour que des étudiant-es puissent avoir un exemple de "bon" mémoire qui traite d'une enquête de terrain et d'analyse d'entretiens (et plus modestement de questionnaires).
Il est dans plusieurs BU, mais on peut l'acheter (ou demander à sa BU de l'acheter).
La préface est lisible en ligne.
