Amadeus Paulussen<p>Personally, I haven't used the <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/bitwigstudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>bitwigstudio</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/grid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>grid</span></a> that often until now.<br>However, I recently came across a patch in which Elodia Blackstar attempted to recreate an Oberheim 4 Voice synthesizer in Bitwig's Poly Grid. Impressive stuff. 🤓<br>Check it out here <a href="https://youtu.be/1nPgiGD5U6M?si=qjzAXXPMrBkTz1OD" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">youtu.be/1nPgiGD5U6M?si=qjzAXX</span><span class="invisible">PMrBkTz1OD</span></a> and here <a href="https://bitwiggers.com/presets/54caa0cc-e33b-4364-b899-1933bae6dace/" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">bitwiggers.com/presets/54caa0c</span><span class="invisible">c-e33b-4364-b899-1933bae6dace/</span></a><br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a></p>
Amadeus Paulussen<p>I have another question for you <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxmusician" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxmusician</span></a> (s): Do you usually put effects like reverb and delay directly on the respective channels, or do you prefer send/return channels instead?</p>
Amadeus Paulussen<p>Dear <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxmusician" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxmusician</span></a> (s). Do you regularly read manuals for <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/plugin" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>plugin</span></a> (s) or do you prefer to figure things out on your own? <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a></p>

Quamplex<p>There was a plan to add Wayland compatibility to the Redkite GUI toolkit we develop, but it seems that DAW hosts running on GNU/Linux will still rely on XWayland for a long time. So for now, it's better to focus on something else instead — like adding Vulkan support for the graphics backend.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Wayland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Wayland</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LinuxAudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxAudio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GNUlinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GNUlinux</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Vulkan" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Vulkan</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AudioPlugins" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AudioPlugins</span></a></p>
Quamplex<p>It’s interesting that out of 200 downloads of the Geonkick basic version since the recent release, 30% were for GNU/Linux. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/synths" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>synths</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/linuxaudio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxaudio</span></a></p>

Oh there is <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Hydrogen" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Hydrogen</span></a> <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/DrumSampler" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DrumSampler</span></a> on my <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> system!</p><p>Oh *beep*, most drum kits don't work and I don't know why but I don't wont to figure that out now.</p><p>Managed to patch Hydrogen MIDI to my outboard synthesizer. Now how to send MIDI Clock? Oh Hydrogen cannot send MIDI clock. </p><p>I need jack_midi_clock to get MIDI Clock from the general Jack Transport. Installing.</p><p>Okay now I'm in GMIDImonitor to find out the jack_midi_clock does not send any MIDI Clock, at least not on my system of <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Pipewire" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pipewire</span></a> + <a href="https://digitalcourage.social/tags/Jack" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Jack</span></a>. Or perhaps it does but I can't see, since the synth's arpeggiator stops when transport plays and continues playing when transport stops.</p><p>This is getting weird.</p><p>Now I have lost my idea for the drum pattern, so I'm giving up on making music for today. Time is very limited anyways.</p>
